When it comes to eye make-up I go through phases of wearing nothing but mascara, then loving eyeshadow and mascara, then loving eyeshadow liner and mascara and then on to liner and mascara and no eyeshadow… right now, I’m in a phase where I’m loving liner and mascara and the liner I’ve been loving this this rather chunky ‘Blackbuster’ from L’Oreal.
The liner itself is a really chunky felt tip pen style, with a fat nib that goes into a fine point. The nib is very firm, which is good as it means despite the chunk-factor, it’s still really easy to get a really precise, neat line with it. So I decided to try a more dramatic winged liner look that I usually go for and extended the flick out a little further.
Colour wise, this can’t be faulted – really dark and pigmented on first swipe and no need for layering to achieve that true black, liquid liner look that you can sometimes need with pen liners. The only downside of the slightly firm nib is that it can feel a little sharp on the delicate eyelid, so worth a few scribbles on the back of the hand before you get stuck in to applying on the eye to sort of ‘warm it up’ a little first.
This is just one of the liner offerings from L’Oreal from the #Lineofbeauty set I was sent to showcase the products (set not available to buy, but each product is separately!) the set also includes the Brow Artist – with a tinted pencil, a wax pencil and a brush to whip those brows into Cara D-worthy shape.
Then there’s the GelMatic liner and the Superliner ‘Perfect Slim’. The Perfect Slim liner is ideal if you love the liquid liner look but perhaps don’t want the fat dramatic liner look you get with Blackbuster and Gelmatic is a gel-like pencil for the look of liquid but with the ease of use of a pencil.
Basically, all the liners a girl could ever want!
All the L’Oreal liners are available from Superdrug (Blackbuster £6.99)
