Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons – I officially have a new lip-love in my life. These new lip goodies from Bourjois are one of the latest ‘crayon’ additions to the beauty world and I think they’re pretty fab.
Now I know there are a lot of lip crayons or chubby sticks or whatever you want to call them knocking around and rarely to any of the new releases really challenge the ones that did it first (Clinique, I’m looking at you) but I have to say these are serious contenders for my personal favourites. Let me tell you a little more about why…
|L-R: Peach on the Beach, Orange Punch|
|Peach on the Beach|
Firstly, the two colours I’ve been playing with – the pinky peach ‘Peach on the beach’ and the more fresh orange ‘Orange Punch’. The colour difference isn’t dramatic, one is just a bit of a stronger shade than the other but both apply fairly sheer so you could just have a wash of colour – or build to something a bit more intense.
One thing I love about this is that they are sheer – so you can have a light wash of colour if you want. But as I mentioned above, you can build for a stronger look. I haven’t played with all the shades so don’t know if some of the others might be more pigmented than these two, but for these fresh summery shades – sheer is absolutely perfect.
The next thing I love is that they’re hydrating – I apply these and they really feel like a lip balm but with a tint of colour. They do promise comfort for 10 hours and a glossy finish – and they deliver on this. In terms of the colour lasting, 10 hours is quite a stretch but the colour does definitely leave a bit of a stain on the lips so lasts a while after the glossy sort of finish has disappeared.
The next thing I love is that they’re easy to apply – the crayon style just makes is so easy to do. Even when sitting upstairs on the 73 as it shakes it’s way along Oxford Street in rush hour. These make it easy.
Lastly, what I love about these are the shades. There’s just something really fresh and a bit different about them. Especially Peach on the Beach which is my absolute favourite – I think it’s the peachy/pink/coral type hybrid in sheer form just really flatters. Personally, I think it works with my pale skin tone and makes it feel a bit brighter and healthier whilst staying natural looking, and I love it for this!
So now I have Peach on the Beach safely stashed in my handbag and Orange Punch in my everyday make-up basket so I am covered for Colour Boost goodness, wherever I am!
