London Fashion Week: L’Oreal Hair Fix Bar

In between all the chaos and excitement of London Fashion Week, it’s really nice to have a bit of a pamper break and general breather. So this season I spent a bit of time chilling out up in the Glam Media suite and enjoying a bit of a beauty touch-up courtest of the L’Oreal Hair Fix Bar. Using the cult classic, Elnett Satin – that’s been given a ‘Catwalk Collection’ Limited Edition make-over especially for Fashion Week.

On offer in the L’Oreal Hair Fix Bar were three different blow-dry hairstyles – the wavy side hairstyle, the romantic fishtail, and the haute couture top knot. My usual choice would have been the wavy side hair style – but I decided to step out of my ‘hair-down’ comfort zone and try something different – and opted for the top knot. With the hope of picking up some tips and tricks on how to recreate the look for my super-fine hair that makes it look full, thick and healthy!

I do have a tendency at times to throw my hair up in a messy ponytail but I’ve never quite been able to manage the top know look without my hair looking too fine or the knot just looking a bit small and pathetic. So it was really interesting to see the stylist take the pony tail and twist into two sections that then curled around to give the knot a bit more oomph and interest before being held in place with non-snagging hair bands and a few hair clips and a nice dusting of Elnett to hold. The spritz of hair spray is essential for me and my fine, flyaway hair. Even when I’m not wearing it up – the hairspray really helps stop static and flyaways!

The up-do/top knot look does take a bit of getting used to from a girl like me who is used to slightly dishevelled hair down most of the time. But for those days where I frankly can’t be bothered to wash it, but still want that bit of glamour and to look like I made an effort – I will be twisting and pinning my hair into a ‘Catwalk Collection’ top knot pronto! The non-snag hairbands make a big difference too – bulkier hairbands do tend to ‘compete’ with the hair and look bulky, where with these smaller bands the hair remains the focus and isn’t spoilt by a chunky hair band getting in the way of your style.

Experience the magic of a fashion show with the new Limited Edition Elnett Catwalk Collection. Products come and go on the catwalk but one will remain iconic. For over 50 years, Elnett has been famous for its legendary hold and has become a cult favourite of runway stylists around the globe. This year, the iconic and recognisable hairspray  been reinvented to celebrate the fashion season.
