A new month, for some reason it’s always September that gives me that OH GOD IT’S ALL GOING TOO FAST feeling. Like the whole year has rushed past too quickly already and I want to shout that I want a do-over so I can maybe put all those new years resolutions into play instead of wasting time catching up on the latest Teen Mom episodes and aimlessly browsing the internet… Just me!? The other side of me also still gets that urge to hit up Paperchase and stock up on new stationary so I’m all ready for the new school year. I wonder if I’ll ever grow out of that back to school feeling?! But on a side note, I wanted to kick off the new month by sharing five things that I think are well worth a try in September. Some are new launches, others are products I have tried recently and loved and would recommend. Let me know what you think and if any of these have made the cut for your wish list for the month ahead.
- Aveda Tulasara Radiant Oleation Oil * (£38) – Very much taking it back to a ritual of skincare. Which is perfect timing as the seasons change. Taking that bit more time to massage the oil into skin and using the nobbly little brush to really get circulation going. Then adding your own selection of Concentrate to suit your skin needs. I love oil in a skincare routine anyway, so the ritual of adding the oil and massage is a great touch. It was earlier this year when I had a facial session with the amazing Nichola Joss. She used some great products from The Sanctuary Skincare range to massage my face. I had NO idea how much of a difference a great facial massage can really make to your face and skin before this. If you take one thing from this post, let it be facial massage. Also a great tip is that The Sanctuary do lovely facial oils if you want to give it a whirl on a budget – I recommend the Therapists Secret Facial Oil (£12.50)
2. YSL Vernis A Levres Vinyl Cream * (£26) – The latest member of the YSL Vernis A Levres family. Which launched back in 2012, can you believe?! How time has flown… These are the newest launch that combine the stain/gloss/lipstick hybrid formula. This differs from the other launches in the fact that it has a cream texture, but a glossy finish. So it manages to give that intense colour, but with shine too. I’ve long had a thing for a YSL lipstick so I’m very excited for these. I have the intense pink (middle in picture) a whirl at the launch and can vouch for colour pay off AND comfort in one. The shades shown here (L-R: Fuchsia Live, Explicit Pink Rhythm Red). These technically launch on the 7th this month but you can get them from the YSL site early.
3. By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Cream * (£61) – Ok, so these are on the pricey side. BUT they are absolutely incredible. I’ve been obsessed with the Immaculate Light one since I was first shown it by the fantastic Albane Laloy, the make-up artist ambassador for By Terry. These are really lovely to use as they bring together makeup and skincare (as all of By Terry products do) so you know you’re not just caking on colour, you’re doing some good to your complexion at the same time. There are four variants of the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum – the two here are Apricot Glow and Immaculate Light. Both designed to brighten and add a healthy glow. It will all be down to the undertones of your skin as to which one is the best for you. but I think almost everyone could love a bit of Immaculate Light. SO glowy under foundation, or radiant if just used as a liquid highlight on top too. Yes, expensive – but gorgeous. Available from SpaceNK.
4. Clarins Hand & Nail Cream Scented Trio * (Limited Edition £25) – Hand and nail cream is one of those things I can’t live without. I always have one in my bag and have been known to dash to Boots earliest opportunity to buy one if I have forgotten it. It’s definitely a NEED product for me. I would rather go out make-up free than without hand cream. One of my all time favourites is the classic Clarins Hand and Nail Cream so I had to add these in as it’s a great little trio of three limited edition versions of the hand cream but with added fragrances. All three smell lovely and it’s hard to choose a favourite but I think mine would be either the Fig or Orange Leaf. The three are Fig Leaf, Orange Leaf or White Tea Leaf. Perfect handbag sized and if you like the original then you need to give these a whirl. Oh, and they make a great gift too.
5.The Estee Edit Cocobalm * (£15) – Can you believe this is the first Estee Edit product I’ve blogged about? I know, it was a huge launch in the UK a couple of months ago but I decided I wanted to really have a play with the products before I blogged about them. So I might be seemingly late to the party, but better late than never! This is a new addition to the UK offering, I first spotted them in Sephora back in June and love the quirky packaging. The silver top twists off to reveal a little lip balm applicator. It is just a lovely tinted, hydrating lip balm in some cool and quirky packaging. This is exclusive to Selfridges in the UK.
