FIVE: Deep Red Nail Colours

I think it’s part of being a blogger to be a bit fickle, one moment mint is THE best colour in the world, next it’s murky grey, then purple glitter… and so on… But, as fickle as I can be with colour I have found myself falling into more of a ‘capsule’ range of colours that I turn to with deep red or berry shades being front and centre.

I find deep red looks polished and classic year-round, goes with almost every outfit and manages to look stylish but edgy all at the same time. These five are some of my absolute top favourites.

The shades left to right are: Estee Lauder ‘Love Bite’, Guerlain ‘168 L’heure Bleue ‘, Essie ‘Wicked and ‘Soul Mate’ and Revlon ‘Vixen’.

Estee Lauder Love Bite* is the pinkest of the bunch, more of a rich berry than a deep red I think really… but that’s ok, I’m a

Guerlain 168 L’heure Bleue* is a true rich red and an absolute dream to apply – this might sound odd, but this is my favourite colour to wear with jeans and a striped top…just feels like the perfect finishing touch.

Then there are the two Essie favourites – for a true dark and moody nail shade you can’t go wrong with Wicked. Wicked is more of a almost-black red, with a slight brownish shade to it. For an ever so slightly lighter take on the deep red then Sole Mate* is my latest favourite in this deep red category.

Finally, moving straight from my most recent favourite to one of my all time favourite nail colours. This is the beauty that is Revlon’s Vixen – this is the shade that at one point I had three – yes, THREE – of this one shade in my collection. That’s how much I adore it. It really is the ultimate in deep red shades – and a great example of how awesome Revlon are at nail colours.

Beautiful colours! I’m exactly the same as you, so fickle with colours, but you can’t beat a nice berry shade for winter. Those Essie ones are just beautiful! Great post x

I did a manicure monday post today and I thought the darker Essie polish you had was Carry On – but I suppose it has more of a purpley tone to it.

I’d love to see those two colors side by side to compare!

These are all really gorgeous colours. This is just the sort of colour I love to start wearing once autumn rolls in. I think the Guerlain one is probably my favorite.
