Clarins Spring 2014

Clarins Spring has landed and in one fail swoop I am ready for Winter to be over and sunshine to return. Sure, I love cosy nights in and snuggly clothes. But just give me a whiff of a coral blush and lipstick and I’ll be throwing off my scarves and slippers and jumping into Spring mode in an instant. Clarins never fails to deliver on the wow factor, and this season the wow comes in the form of a gorgeously embossed eyeshadow palette and the pretty cream blushers (shown here in two shades).

The collection also includes a gorgeous face palette, that I am very much lusting after but afraid I don’t have to show you here. I will pop by a counter next time I get chance and pick one up as it looks absolutely gorgeous! But it’s a face powder with different shades embossed on in a polka-dot sort of design. Very very pretty indeed.

But for now, lets take a look at Clarins Spring* a little closer…

The eyeshadow palette is very pretty indeed. Three powder shadows (All with shimmer) and one creamy/glitter texture – that has amazing payoff, but not the easiest texture to work with. Check out the swatches below.

Two cream blushers in the shades 02 Candy (the pinky coral) and 04 Rosewood (the dusky rose). Candy is absolutely perfection for perking up a pale winter complexion for Spring.

The lipstick in the shade ‘Coral Tulip’ looks almost neon, but applies a little sheer – which softens the colour down. Very pretty, will look best with a bit of a tan.

Interesting to see a taupe shade of eyeshadow in there for Spring, as usually a shade considered more AW than SS. But this is very versatile, can be used wet or dry and I am a total sucker for a taupe. The shade is called ‘Smoky Plum’.

For the complexion there are three new Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base Shades: Rose, Champagne and Peach. This is peach and is pretty, but suspect a little *too* orange for my skintone – but if you’re more tanned this will be great for lightweight evening out.

Hopefully the above shots give you a closer look at the prettiness coming from Clarins for Spring. The Spring Collection launches Feb 2014 and is all about flawless skin, blushed cheeks and awakened eyes and sparkling lips – sounds all good to me! Oh, there’s also two glosses in the range – I have the clear one (in the main shot) but not much point in swatching a clear gloss – there’s also a coral shade that matches the lipstick (Coral Tulip) so perfect if you like a bit of extra shine on your pout.

My top picks from the collection are the Multi-Blush (especially the Candy shade) and the Face and Blush powder – even though I don’t have it to show you here, it just looks beautiful.

What has caught your eye!? Anyone else hoping Spring arrives quickly (even though Winter has barely really arrived yet…)!?

The eyeshadow palette has definitely caught my eye as did the Candy blush. I’m usually a fan of warmer blushes but this one looks so perky and fresh. I can’t wait for spring to get here
