The annual Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess collection is ALWAYS a highlight of the beauty calendar for me – typically a collection of gorgeous golds and bronzes, usually with a dash of turquoise or teal, it’s always a collection that gets me excited. Throw in a scent that basically defines the smell of a holiday and you have me sold. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2014 is no different – this year is a slight variation on past years though with a slight twist on the usual shimmering bronzes in the palette.
The palette – which is always the star of the show is a mix this year, three shimmering shades in a pretty champagne, a rich bronze and then a tan-flattering metallic aubergine. Then there’s the new addition of five matte shades – in a single pan together. These could essentially be used just as simple eyeshadows, or potentially swirled and blended together for a matte bronzer/powder effect. The paler shades don’t have a particularly strong pay-off, but the darker shades are pretty and make a lovely natural looking way to add some definition. Perfect if you want that ‘no make-up’ look.
Then for the nail shades the shimmering shades of the palette are a perfect match to the golden bronze of ‘Burnished nude’ and the metallic aubergine is a perfect pair for ‘Scorpion’. Both gorgeous shades to flatter a holiday glow.
Then of course there’s the other star of the collection – the classic Bronze Goddess fragrance. Each year is a new variant on this, but always with consistent notes. I would challenge anyone to smell this and not be whisked away to a hot sandy beach in your head. This year the Bronze Goddess fragrance has been given a ‘body splash’ make-over. So rather than the typical perfume, you can spritz all over – perfect for that refreshing holiday feel. It really is a gorgeous scent and well worth checking out – even if you’re not going anywhere – it smells amazing.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2014 * will be available nationwide from 1st May

I really like the look of the nail polishes, the palette is lush but I would have needed some non-neutral shades for it to be a purchase for me.
