Harpers Bazaar Birchbox (and exclusive Benefit offer)

Ok, today is officially ‘beauty box’ day on A Beauty Junkie in London…with lots of posts all about beauty boxes coming your way. To kick things off though we have a pretty darn special box! This is the Harpers Bazaar Birchbox * – and let me tell you, it’s pretty awesome. It’s the first box in a long time where I have genuinely been happy and excited for EVERY item in there – I found it had sort of become the ‘norm’ to have one ‘meh’ product (usually a perfume sample or tiny sachet of skincare…) in amongst some good ones. But this box shatters that rule with an across the board win. Not only are all the products good – there’s also a great mix of items from make-up, to skincare, to haircare.

So in the box we have…a mini ‘They’re Real’ Mascara from Benefit, a classic red nail varnish from Soigne, a small bottle of Aromatherapy Associates Bath and Shower Oil in ‘Relax Light’, a travel size of the cult-classic Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (which recently won it’s 100th beauty award!), a 15 day supply of Imedeen Derma One, and Philip Kingsley One More Day travel sized dry shampoo.

I can wholeheartedly say I am delighted with the contents of this box – every single product, bar the nail varnish is one I have tried before and loved. The nail varnish only being an exception in that it’s a brand I haven’t tried previously. But it looks like a gorgeous colour so looking forward to trying!

The Philip Kingsley One More Day is one of my favourite (if not *the* favourite) dry shampoo products as it feels like it’s good for the scalp as well as the hair… and we all know about my little obsession with the scalp. The Liz Earle isn’t my all time favourite cleanser, but I do like it – especially when my skin is feeling on the dry side. I absolutely love the Aromatherapy Associates Bath and Body oils – they’re my go-to for a relaxing bath and this is perfectly sized for one bath time. The Derma One – I can see this maybe not being for all, purely because not everyone likes supplements – but personally, it’s one I’ve been taking on and off (I’m a little rubbish at remembering) since last year – so this is both a welcome addition and a handy reminder for me to get taking again. As I type I have this packet next to me on my desk – having already taken today’s dose! Then there’s the They’re Real Mascara from Benefit – apparently this is the biggest selling mascara in the UK. I’ve tried it (review here) and do like it – it’s not my number one pick, purely because I prefer a soft brush to a comb-style wand.

Overall – big high five to Birchbox and Harpers Bazaar – this is a fantastic box! No pressure for the next one then…!
