I love nail effects that add a little twist – and the fact that they’re all over the place now makes me happy. Lots of new colours to play with and creations to make. These two from Seventeen are some of the most non-sparkly fun ones I’ve seen. I do have a favourite and one I’m not as keen on of the two… but read on to see which is which!
Ok, you probably already guessed that the blue ‘In The Surf’ is my favourite… if you read this blog at all then you will probably already be aware of my weakness for blue nail shades. The finish of these is actually far more subtle than it looks in the bottle – it would take some layering to get a full cover of the speckles. But thanks to the micro glitter bits it looks far more subtle – this would look fab over a white base or another blue shade. Or something more contrasting like a bright yellow maybe. I’d always go with white though.
Then there’s the peachy shade ‘Tropical Punch’ – it’s a cute colour, and I like that there are some blue and green speckles in there too to break it up. I guess I just think the peachy shade is a little too close to nude for me, so it might not look quite as interesting on the nail and I wouldn’t easily decide which shade as a base…maybe a pale blue or again, white – to make the speckles stand out.
What do you think of nail effects and colour finishes of these? Like to add a touch of texture or keep your colour simple?
