There’s a ton of fragrances on the market year round, and they all dial-up their promotion around the festive season. However – if you really want to choose something special fragrance wise for someone you love then the Aerin fragrances are really ones that feel special. I’ve talked about Ikat Jasmine from the original collection, but this is dedicated to Aerin Iris Meadow one of two new additions. I can’t really explain how special these scents feel – from the packaging to the actual scent, they really do embody the essence of the luxurious, glamour that is Aerin Lauder.
Speaking of Aerin Lauder, back in the Summer I was lucky enough to be invited for a breakfast with the woman herself and she really is that sort of mind boggling level of ladylike ‘together’ that I strive and constantly fail to achieve.
Described as ‘like walking through an open field wild with flowers’, Iris Meadow is like a little taste of Spring in the middle of Winter. But fresh and lovely, not overtly flowery – more fresh. Sitting here sniffing at it now and I realise how lovely it really is. It’s one I’ve worn on and off and sniffing it again makes me want to douse myself in the stuff.
The notes include a combination of crisp green notes, florals, ‘warm energizing woods’, madnarin and blackcurrant with of course iris, plus a touch of Eygyptian Jasmine, plus cedarwood and something woody and musky.
For me it’s the combination of fresh, a touch of floral and then the muskiness that puts it back into woodyness and slightly powdery. If i’m ever asked what my favourite sort of scents are powdery ones – which is probably why this one appeals to me so much.
As I said, Aerin fragrances are something really special and a touch more unique than many of the other fragrances on the market. Just look at that packaging. I also spotted there’s a rather gorgeous ‘Fragrance Coffret’ on sale too, so if you’re not sure which scent might suit someone then this is a gorgeous (and generous) gift option.
