Daily Hydration Favourites

I was just getting ready for the day today and I realised my current morning skincare routine has been pretty consistent for a while and there are a few day to day favourites that I keep reaching for that might make a good little blog post. This of course isn’t the full routine – mainly just the moisture products I use in the morning post-cleanse (usually either The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser or Origins GinZing Scrub at the moment – this morning was GinZing). Then I reach for these daily hydration favourites. Just as a little reminder, I tend to have dry/combination skin – especially dry on cheeks and around the eyes.

Starting with the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly *(Boots £24.99) – anyone who reads this blog occasionally will know I’m a fan of Hydraluron in general. But it’s been the moisture jelly that’s been my go-to lately as a sort of ‘serum’ hydrator. I like how it feels light and just goes a good job. This tends to be the one I apply straight out of the shower as it immediately prevents my skin feeling tight or anything.

Then next up is my Zelens Daily Defence Sunscreen *(Cult Beauty £55) – because sunscreen is for life and not just for Summer. I actually like this one more now in the colder months than I did in the Summer as it feels quite rich and really does a great job and moisturising my skin, plus I feel like it’s protected when I’m out and about (or just say in front of a window all day).

For the eyes I’ve been using Elizabeth Arden Prevage Eye Serum *(Boots £95) – I’ve actually had this in my ‘to test’ pile since the start of the year but only got using it in the Summer. But this is plus points for how long it lasts as has been going for at least 4/5 months now – which is always a good sign for a product that is quite expensive. I use this is in the AM only as it has that slight shimmer/brightening effect but it feels light on the eye area and definitely leaves my typically always-dry under eye feeling hydrated and looking fresher.

Last but by no means least is the NARS Optimal Brightening Concentrate *(Look Fantastic £45) – this is one of those somewhere between make-up and skincare products I think. It’s a pearly finish serum that I started reaching for on tired days to brighten my skin up a bit pre-foundation, sort of like a primer. But now i’m finding it part of my daily AM routine – everyone wants to look a little brighter/more glowy right? It doesn’t leave skin with a full-on sheen, but it does add just a touch of glow and acts as a perfect base for make-up, or just leaves skin looking healthy if I’m skipping the slap for a day.

So there we have it – a round up of my morning hydration hero products of the moment. Maybe a little PM equivalent coming your way soon!

Love the sound of the NARS Concentrate – I have never tried their skincare products before!

Oh wow the NARS concentrate sounds so interesting! Is there anything comparable (I’m thinking MAC Strobe Cream but thinner?). Awesome reviews. Unfortunately Hydraluron didn’t do wonders for my skin, which is a shame since I wanted to love it.
