I umm-ed and ah-ed over this NARS Virtual Domination Palette when I was in Sephora (various Sephora stores technically…) in New York in early November. Eventually biting the bullet and buying one (the FOMO of LE kicked in). Since then, it’s actually only recently I’ve started reaching for it! Always the way isn’t it. If I hadn’t bought it, it would eternally be the one that got away…but then I buy it and don’t touch it for ages?! Beauty blogger problems right there… But it’s actually not all drama over blushers. This month I have been reaching for it, and actually surprising myself with which shades I’ve been going for.
First up, what does the NARS Virtual Domination Palette contain – there’s Miss Liberty (highlighting blush powder), Deep Throat (blush), Laguna (bronzer) Sex Fantasy (blush), Final Cut (blush). The ones I thought I would go for the most would be Deep Throat (an existing favourite) and Final Cut (my sort of shade). But in actual fact the ones I’ve been going for are Sex Fantasy and Miss Liberty. Probably the two I didn’t think I would use as much – I just wasn’t sure if Sex Fantasy would be too pale toned for my skin and Miss Liberty is a touch glittery.
But in the above I’m wearing a combination of Sex Fantasy and a touch of Miss Liberty – I really like the combination. The pale blush plus the touch of glow of the highlight works nicely together. Especially when my skin is on the paler side at the moment. I think when perhaps I have more colour the stronger shades might work a bit better. Although Deep Throat is an eternal favourite and will be worn regardless of being pale or with a bit of colour.
Did the NARS Virtual Domination win you over or did you skip this one? I have a proper weakness for a blusher palette so really couldn’t resist a purchase. Was it a good one, I’m slightly on the fence – it’s a good one in terms of shades yes, but as I haven’t gotten as much use out of it as I would have wanted yet it’s that little harder to justify the cost. But do I regret buying? No… I would have gone a bit nuts had I missed out on it!
