Ah, Valentines Day… if there was ever a day I truly didn’t like more than another it was probably this one. A day of enforced romance? Is there anything less romantic than forcing it to be on a certain day? Of course, whilst I totally feel that way…the husband will be in trouble if he doesn’t get me a card… But, in spite of that – now does seem like a good time to mention the gorgeous new Chloe Love Story fragrance. It’s out now and does seem to have been perfectly timed to tie in with Valentines day. But regardless of how anyone feels about the one day… it’s worth taking a little peek at this fragrance as it’s a lovely one.
Chloe fragrances have always been ones I’ve desperately wanted to love but generally liked but not 100% fallen for in the same way as I had other scents. The gorgeous bottle and dressing table worthy look of them made me want to love them more than I ever actually did. I’ve liked them, sure – but they never became my go-to day to day scent. This one has somewhat changed that – it feels softer than the original Chloe, and a little fresher.
The fact Orange Blossom is one of the top notes is basically what won me over – ever since wearing Orange Blossom on my wedding day it’s become a firm favourite as one whiff brings back happy memories. Throw in some musk and I’m a happy girl. There’s a bit of Jasmine in there too, which I never used to like but do after loving Aerin Ikat Jasmine.
This for me is a lovely day to day scent and has taken Chloe fragrances from a like to a love. Also, it does help that I have a massive girl-crush on Clemence Posey and she’s the oh-so-Parisien face of the fragrance ad campaign.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who is sometimes won over by pretty packaging to want to love a fragrance?!
