Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2015

You know how there are certain things that help you note mentally when a certain season is here? Leaves falling… red cups at Starbucks… spotting blossom on the trees…well, Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess launching is a sure-fire way to know Summer is officially here. Now, I know the whole ‘heat wave’ thing would have been a bit of a give away for most but I was out of the country for that (in hot climes myself, but more predictably so ones). A little intro to those who are new to these parts and maybe not familiar with the whole idea, well – Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2015 is the annual launch from Estee Lauder of a Summer collection. Usually focussed on all things golden and bronze (as the name suggests) including the classic perfume that I mentioned HERE and always smells like Summer in a bottle.

Each year the collection has a few staple items that are ever so slightly updated for each launch (the perfume, the palette, a highlighter/bronzer) plus a few items that tend to be unique each launch. So this year I have a selection from the launch to have a play with and show you but the full collection includes: a bronzer, a highlighting gelee, a lip gloss pen, an all over illuminator (the cream stick), shimmering body oil, nail colour and waterproof mascara.

I have the shadow palette, all over illuminator, body oil, fragrance and highlighting gelee. The shadow palette manages to offer day to night bronzed-ness with a blend of shimmering shades that range from a soft netural palette to a deeper matallic sheen selection. With the paler end of the scale being just as good to blend together and sweep over cheeks if you want to double up and make it multi-functional. Then the trio on the right are perfect to smoke it up for night time,

The highlighting gelee is the sort of powder/cream duo texture that Estee Lauder is great at and has used for a few years. This years offering is a pretty champagne shade with sea-shell print and delivers a lovely blend of shimmer and sheen to cheeks. The gelee formula is perfect for Summer time as adds that glow that just looks like you have been out in the sun with sun cream on.

Then there’s the pretty all over illuminator – it’s a pinky/coral/bronze shade that is just lovely to add some warmth to cheeks. The stick format is ideal for travel too which is very Summer-appropriate. Just need to dab on a few bits and blend out. It has a bit of a sheen to it too but not glitter/shimmer at all.

Of the bunch the immediate stand outs for me have to be the all over illuminator and the fragrance… these are the two ‘must have’ items in my eyes from the collection. But as is always the case with Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, it’s limited edition so if you want it then make sure you move fast before it sells out! The body oil is gorgeous too, if you like a shimmer – personally I don’t love glitter/shimmer for body but it does smell just as amazing as the perfume – so if you do then you need to take a peek at this as a body-softening version of the scent.

I absolutely love Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess collection. The fragrance is my all time favourite, it’s so beautiful! I only wish they’d bring back the gelee blush in that gorgeous light pink shade they did a couple of years ago!! x
