When Burberry Beauty launched, there was every chance it could have been all talk no substance. A fashion brand branching out could have resulted in beautiful packaging but maybe not products that work quite as well. Trading on brand name alone. But a few years on and it’s safe to say that Burberry Beauty is in fact an absolute gem of a brand with some stand out products. A couple of which that I’ve been especially loving lately that I wanted to ramble about in this post.
The two key favourite products all came into my life as part of the beautiful AW Burberry Beauty Collection 14/15. In amongst all the army green and beige I found myself loving a couple more of the day to day products that have become part of my routine on a regular basis, one being a daily use and another in my bag constantly. You might recognise one from the Top 15 of 2015 post – but I realised I hadn’t given it a specific post shout out so wanted to rectify that so I could explain a little more about why I like it so much.
The product being the Burberry Cashmere Skin Concealer in the shade Porcelain. This concealer is an absolute dream for concealing under eye circles, especially if you tend to have dryness around the eyes like I do. As it’s so light and blends like an absolute dream. Managing to conceal/brighten without leaving it cakey at all. It feels really silky and I feel like my skin feels softer when it’s applied. Kinda living up to that whole ‘cashmere skin’ name. If you have dryness around your eyes you will likely know what I mean when I say that it’s hard to find a concealer that really works – as they’re either too light they don’t actually conceal anything… or they’re so heavy you hide the bags but exaggerate the dryness that can make you look as tired as if you hadn’t bothered…. but this one very much ticks both boxes of concealing and not exaggerating lines in my opinion and is a firm favourite.
The spongey brush is also a little element that works a treat for blending it out, although I do have a slight question mark over how hygienic it is. But it works so well I just ignore that fact for now. It’s a winner for me and one I will repurchase on the sad day it runs out.
Next up on my Burberry Beauty love affair we have the beautiful Burberry First Kiss Glossy Lip Balm – and that’s pretty much what it is. It’s glossy – tick and a balm – tick. In fact, it feels more like water than a gloss. Very light and very comfortable to wear. Zero stickiness, which is always the thing that puts me off a lipgloss personally. This is the sort of lip product that’s designed for those who don’t love lipstick or gloss, you want a balm but maybe not as ‘balmy’… the fuss pot of the lipstick world. I like it for day to day as it hydrates and adds a touch of flattering colour to the lips at the same time.
The colour I have here is Rose Blush and is a pretty warm pink shade that is bright but not so bright it creates a bold colour on the lips when worn. It’s so light feeling you can forget about it and it just wears naturally too. All round awesome for a daily lip colour – oh, and it’s one you can apply on the go easily too. Hello tube lipstick.
I’ve also recently been using the Burberry Skin Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base (those Burberry types do like a long winded name don’t they) and it’s been working wonders on my rubbish January skin as a pre-foundation pick me up. Dull skin be gone, and I can at least fake it until I can glug enough water that the glow is real!
Have you tried any Burberry Beauty bits yet? If so, let me know what you’re loving?! I can add these to the list with my other favourite the Pale Barley eyeshadow (included HERE – a definite new beauty cult classic). Let me know what else I need to give a whirl! I’m definitely having a Burberry Beauty moment. Now just to complete the look with one of those snazzy monogrammed scarves!
