For the past few years I’ve always pulled together a ‘best of’ type list – either as one single round up post or as a series looking at each one. This year, I decided doing a top 15 of 2015 would be a good way to round them up. I haven’t been too strict with myself and whilst I’m shouting out to a few MVP’s of my beauty kit in 2015 there are also a few honourable mentions for other loves in the same category. So it’s technically more like a top 15 plus a few… but you get the jist. Fifteen products I’ve loved this year across all sections of beauty.
Burberry Skin Cashmere Concealer * – Whatever this little thing does it’s like magic. Lightweight, blends like a dream and leaves skin looking even and fresh. Perfect for under eyes. Total love. Honourable mention in the concealer category has to go to Maybelline Better Skin * – great for hiding spots, blends amazingly and a fab budget concealer option.
Estee Lauder EE Cream * – I feel I need to do a whole post dedicated to Estee Lauder base options. As it’s not just the EE Cream I’ve loved this year. But the EE is a total stand out. Evens skin, leaves it glowing (to just the right level) but feels light and natural.
L’Oreal Feline Mascara * – I’ve rediscovered a love of L’Oreal mascara in 2015 and the L’Oreal Feline Volume Million Lashes has been a top pick. In fact,t he whole Volume Million Lashes family are pretty ace and definitely a great way to get ace results without needing to splurge in the beauty department.
Smith & Cult Nail Varnish * – Launched in the UK this year and was very welcome. The gorgeous bottles won me over long before I even tried my first shade. But having tried a good selection I can vouch the quality is just as beautiful as the packaging. Current favourite shade is Doe My Dear – a taupe grey shade that’s a year-round classic alternative to nude. Also a shout out has to go to the awesome Red Carpet Ready * at-home gel nails system. So quick and easy to use and a great range of shades available. It doesn’t last quite as long as in salon gel, but longer than the average manicure and leaves nails super glossy.
Simple Age Resisting Eye Cream – I have a long time love of Simple products. But one of the discoveries I made this year was the Age Resisting Eye Cream. I used to like the soothing eye cream but having tried this my loyalty has switched – it’s just a little thicker and a little more hydrating, whilst still feeling light for the eye area. Really refreshing too.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation * – It wasn’t love at first use, but it was one that I loved more and more with each use. Now it’s a go-to if I want a truly perfect looking, but still natural skin.
Tarte Blusher in ‘Tipsy’ * – I actually can’t remember the last time I reached for another blush shade. THAT’s how much I adore it. It’s a bright shade that instantly perks up my face and gives a healthy glow. Tarte is one of the brands I’m most excited to try more of in 2016 – since everything I’ve tried so far has impressed me so much!
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturising Hair Cream – I’ve had this for ages but it’s this year that I’ve reached for it time and time again. A small amount (think size of a grape) and my fine/flat hair is given an oomph of volume and texture that lasts. Plus it smells like holidays. A daily favourite. A little heads up also has to go to the Bumble and Bumble All Styles Blow Dry Cream * – one I use really regularly too as I find it helps a blow dry last an extra day and leaves my hair smooth but not flat.
Palmers Skin Therapy Cocoa Oil Spray * – Anything that makes a beauty routine a bit easier is a thumbs up in my eyes and this is the perfect example of one I’ve reached for regularly this year. Especially since moving house it’s been in my daily routine – as it sprays on a fine mist of oil. All the moisture, less mess
Illamasqua Precision Brow * – I’ve never been obsessive over my brows, but this little pot of brow tint helps add just a touch of colour to my brows so they look less invisible and that little bit more done. The perfect match for this is the awesome Liz Earle double ended brow brush – an absolute essential.
Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette * – I finally got my hands on this much-raved about palette. It’s as good as everyone says and I’m pretty confident it’s a mix of shades that suits EVERYONE. Beautiful.
Sisley Lip Balm * – Sat by my bed and a nightly routine to keep my lips hydrated. Not a cheap one no, but my lips have never been softer.
Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter – If you like highlighter and tried this then I’d put good money on it being in your list of loves from 2015. It’s BEAUTIFUL. If you haven’t tried it yet, then the good news is it’s launched over here now so no longer need to order international shipping from Sephora or beg a friend to bring you one back from a trip to the US like I did!
Liz Earle Orange Flower Hand Repair * – My dry hands love this and I have tubes dotted around the house now. One by my desk (the Rock Rose one) and one by the bed and one in the bathroom. One pump is the perfect amount to soften hands quickly and that lasts.
Burberry Brit Rhythm * – One that didn’t really catch my eye (nose?!) on first sniff, but when I tried it second time I LOVED it and haven’t stopped wearing it since.
So there we have my top 15 of 2015 beauty-wise. I’m sure there’s a few I’m loving but have forgotten but these are the ones that immediately come to mind when I think consistent beauty loves through the year. Spot any here that would make the cut for you too? Or any I’m missing and need to try out in 2016?!
