I write this post with tomorrow’s alarm in mind. No matter how well rested, how many naps or how chilled the festive break has left you… If you’re one of the many returning to normal life as of tomorrow then I can vouch that the alarm going off is going to hurt and concealer may be very necessary. Well, for me at least. So it seems like as good a time as any to take a peek at the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer.
If there’s one thing Urban Decay do well it’s Naked everything. Not in the rudey-nudey sense but in the neutral makeup land of naked-ness. So it makes sense they have some complexion perfecting offerings to go alongside the awesome family of palettes. What would I expect from a Naked concealer? Great colour matching, light natural texture that blends into that pure natural skin finish and comfortable to wear all day. Too much to ask from a single concealer? Well, maybe… Be a girl can dream.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer definitely checks the colour match option with a trio of tones within each shade (warm, cool, neutral) so you can work with your undertone as well as the shade of your skin. The ones shown here are cool light, neutral light and neutral medium.
Texture wise I’ve shown each one dotted more heavily then blended out (not totally blended so you can still see the shade but get a good idea of how well it does blend with skin).
I find they blend well but so much so that any tiny crease is blended into. Which means a totally natural skin look but don’t expect this to help in concealing/flattering fine lines too well. It won’t make them worse at all as its so light but it doesn’t offer any plumping/filling type results.
It does however blend well that any discolouration is easily hidden away and leaves skin subtly perfected but not feeling caked in makeup. If you wanted to hide a horrid multi-day hangover from NYE then these would do the trick for getting rid of dark circles for sure. Or if you maybe have a little post-indulgence breakout going on? They will hide redness a treat!
If you like your concealer feeling light and natural and don’t have lines you’re keen to hide then this is worth a try. Just make sure you get the closest colour match (or get two and blend a custom shade!)
