So Revlon are on a bit of a roll with the new launches this year. These are the latest lip offerings to join the gang and I knew I was sold on packaging alone – before I even tried them I had a feeling they would be good. These are the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour – and I have selection of seven to show you… one for each day of the week if you like!?
The shades from left to right of the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour are: 625 HD Love (cherry red) , 605 HD Obsession (hot pink) , 615 HD Temptation (bright pink), 630 HD Seduction (nude) , 620 HD Flirtation (coral), 635 HD Passion (rich red), and 610 HD Addiction (creamy berry).
You can see above how intense the shades are. All super bright and very pigmented with maybe only the nude being ever so slightly more translucent as you would expect for a nude lip colour. I am partial to a bright lip, but never quite adore the matte shades as they seem to make my lips look dry and chapped even when I scrub them and have them coated with balm… if you’re like me then these are the ideal solution. The liquid formula means the whole lip gets evenly coated The colour is intense and the creamy texture feels comfortable – then it dries down to a sort of velvet finish. So the shine sort of goes, but it doesn’t go flat matte. Very much on that middle ground between a matte lip and a glossy finish. It feels very comfortable to wear though, so if you don’t like that moisture-sucking feeling of a matte lip then these are a good bet.
The only thing I would say about these is whilst the packaging is pretty, I don’t love the wand. It’s quite rounded and a little on the chunky side for a product that’s such an intense colour that it really shows if you go over the lines a little. I’d definitely recommend using a lip liner to try and keep that neat outline as it’s all too easy with the wand to go over and then you’re going into Kylie Jenner over-lining territory and it’s a fine line between a plump pout and looking like The Joker…
Just for fun… I mentioned at the start of the post that there are seven shades here so one for each day of the week… this is the order I’d go for them in:
Monday: 615 HD Temptation – Because Monday needs perking up so a bright pink is ideal.
Tuesday: 620 HD Flirtation – Coral for a Tuesday because it makes you look fresh faced and perky when you might be even more tired than Monday.
Wednesday: 625 HD Love – Bright red, because it’s hump day and why not?!
Thursday: 635 HD Passion – Because it’s a deep colour but still can look polished and professional.
Friday: 605 HD Obsession – Because it’s FRIDAY PEOPLE. BRIGHT PINK TIME.
Saturday: 610 HD Addiction – A Rich Berry because it makes a casual outfit look polished OR perfect for a night out.
Sunday: 630 HD Seduction – Because Sunday is all about no-makeup makeup.
