QVC is the largest shopping channel in Britain, combined with it’s other three (non live) TV channels, apps and a website and it’s a pretty big power player in the world of shopping. Especially beauty. There are a whole host of big names stocked on QVC – think Benefit, Elemis, Tarte, L’Occitane, Bare Minerals… the list goes on. The amount of times I’ve heard stories of a brand being ‘made’ from the moment it went on air – from sell out segments to becoming household names. If you think about it blogs and QVC have a similar approach – it’s all about showing products in action, giving a ‘real life’ view of how they work and what they look like. Which is why I think QVC is so trusted as a brand.

So you can imagine how big a deal it can be for a newer beauty brand to land a spot on the coveted QVC roster. Which is exactly what is up for grabs again this year with the QVC ‘Find A Beauty Brand’ competition – for the third year running. Previous winners include Soapsmith, NIOD and Little Ondine. The competition is open to brands NOW and the prize for the winner (or winners… last year was a joint win from NIOD & Little Ondine):
- Mentoring from both QVC and CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women).
- THREE guaranteed on-air appearances on the live QVC channel.
- One hour dedicated show on QVC Beauty.
- A stand at the 2018 Customer Beauty Event that’s attended by 500 QVC customers.
- Membership of the CEW.
- Entry into the CEW awards for 2018.
Remember you don’t have to be an established or ‘big’ brand to be able to enter for the chance to win this amazing opportunity. You just need to do the following:
To enter the competition, brands will have to visit the competition website and complete the Entry Form and submit it by post with a sample to QVC.
The closing date for entries is Friday 19 August 2016.
Shortlist reviewed by full panel of judges in September 2016 – shortlisted brands will be contacted by 26 August 2016. To see who is a member of the panel of judges: qvcuk.com/FindABeautyBrand
Shortlisted brand will have to participate in a judging day and present the product to the panel and answer panel’s questions.
It really is that easy – so if you know of someone who has a brand that deserves some more attention or perhaps you have your own brand you want to shout about? Just take a little visit to the website and start the process of taking part.
If you don’t have a brand yourself, I’d love to know what brand you would like to get a bit more attention by being part of the QVC Find a Beauty Brand competition. Maybe a brand that’s under rated or you struggle to get hold of? If you could nominate one, which would it be – let me know in the comments!
