I’ll put this really simply. If you like Diptyque Baies then you will like this. It’s essentially that scent dialled up a notch in perfume form. It’s a beautiful fragrance and officially my new fragrance love. Diptyque L’Ombre Dans L’Eau or ‘shadow in the water’ as it translates to is a gorgeous blend of blackcurrant and rose. A little more detail below.
Diptyque L’Ombre Dans L’Eau is meant to capture the fragrance of a walk in an English Garden.
The key notes in Diptyque L’Ombre Dans L’Eau are:
Rose, Cassis, Blackcurrant, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Ambergris, Musk & Blackcurrant Leaf.
It’s a very similar fragrance to Baies with the Rose/Cassis notes – mixing floral and sweet but in a fresh way. It has that bit of a ‘bite’ of the blackberry that keeps it from going too sweet. It’s fresh, which is why I love it. With those softer musk notes that tone it down from being too girly
The best thing about this fragrance is how long lasting it is. It is the Eau De Parfum (rather than Eau De Toilette) which does mean it’s more intense and therefore longer staying power. An upside to the Diptyque Brand overall – the fragrances are always that touch more intense and so stay on skin that bit longer.
If you like Diptyque Baies and wish you could wear it as a perfume then this is one to try. It’s gorgeous.
