ghd is up there as one of my longest loved and most classic brands. It’s one I’ve used for all my adult life and don’t see any sign of stopping. They’re always ahead of the curve with new developments and even their core line is always being launched in fresh new colour ways that make you wonder if despite your existing ghd irons going strong… perhaps you do need a new colour anyway?! Thew new ghd Festival Collection 2019 is the perfect example of this – launching a selection of the brand’s most classic of tools in a new soft rainbow colour-fade way. Yep, that’s right ghd rainbow. I know, I’m excited too.

There are three core items in the ghd Festival Collection 2019 – the classic ghd Gold Styler, the ghd Air (hair dryer) and the ghd Platinum.

From the collection I have been sent the classic ghd Gold Styler which features the soft fade rainbow colour along the body of both sides of the iron. The ghd Gold Styler is the original iron that was launched before they developed the Platinum and beyond. My first ever ghd that I got for Christmas in 2002 (memories) was a version of this and was still going strong a decade later. There is a bit of a price difference between the Gold and the Platinum stylers but both are quality tools with just slight different levels of bells and whistles or features on each.

All the ghd Festival Collection 2019 products are on sale at Look Fantastic now.

Speaking of throwing it back to 2002, I’m actually having a bit of a return moment of the poker-straight hair circa my first year at University… For the past few year the vast majority of my hair choices have been to curl or add texture using my ghd tool of choice but lately I’ve been going back to the straight side. With a little more ‘oomph’ than I did back in the early noughties thanks to a couple of my favourite current styling products the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Volumising Spray and the IGK Next Level – both of which are perfect for long lasting volume.

Of course the ghd Festival Collection 2019 is a limited edition and whilst I’m not saying if you have existing tools that are working well then you need to run out and buy new ones (you definitely don’t need to do this) but if you’re considering a purchase of a new tool then this limited edition ghd rainbow design might just swing you…

The ghd Festival Collection 2019 is available from Look Fantastic (from £99)
