Lancôme have a luxe new range of limited edition lipsticks out. With jewel shaped bullets, rich colours and deliciously creamy textures I just had to show you them ASAP. So let’s take a little peek at the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Ruby (they’re limited edition FYI…)

There are three shades in the Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipstick collection – Bad Blood Ruby, Ruby Queen and Kiss Me Ruby. All limited edition and I expect will vanish very quickly as they’re just gorgeous.

Bad Blood Ruby is a bold cherry red shade, Ruby Queen is a dark terracotta shade that looks lighter on the lips than in the bullet. Kiss Me Ruby is a rosy warm pink shade.

All three shades are intensely pigmented and feel rich and creamy to use. The perfect texture for this time of year when chapped lips are definitely a thing. Each of the three shades has a different shaped jewel-inspired bullet. Which is actually my only niggle with the lipsticks, my favourite shade is the darkest one Ruby Queen. A sort of rich terracotta type of shade which is just gorgeous but I do find the shape of the bullet doesn’t lend itself well to getting a sharp lip line when using direct on the lips. Of course there’s always the options of liner and lip brushes but honestly, who has time for that day to day?

So that’s my only negative point about these three lipsticks. The fact that the bullet might be beautiful and unique but for Ruby Queen at least the shape is that little bit trickier to get a neat lip line with. Which is especially key when the lipstick is as pigmented as these are. I should note the other two do have much sharper shapes so work better on application.

But if you want a rich, creamy lipstick in one of three takes on ruby then these are well worth a look.
