Palmer’s have a new product on the block and it’s a new twist on their classic of the Cocoa Butter Solid. This time they’ve taken a summery twist and added a solid balm into the Coconut Oil line.

What are the benefits? Well, besides smelling like tropical holidays (a thing we’re all missing this year) it also offers a whopping 48 hours of moisture in a multi-function balm that can be used anywhere you feel the need for a little extra hydration. The balm itself remains solid, so no messy melting in varying temperatures. But it does melt beautifully into skin when you use to deliver those hydrating benefits to the where you need it.
But with the multi-use element in mind I wanted to share 5 ways you can use the NEW Palmer’s Coconut Oil Balm:
A solid balm like this is perfect for adding a sheen to legs. If you want to get your legs out now the weather has taken a turn for the better but maybe want to just give them a little something extra then this is the product to reach for. Adding just a hint of gloss down the front of legs works a treat for flattering legs without needing the extra ‘leg work’ of fake tanning. Plus who’s shins wouldn’t benefit from a little extra dose of moisture.

Ok so this is my favourite use of a balm like this. My hands and cuticles are dry at the best of times and in lockdown they have been more intensely so. A soft balm like this (meaning you don’t need to work at it to get the product ready to use) is perfect for cuticles as it really absorbs into those dry bits. My top tip would be coat your fingers and hands in the balm and pop on some cotton gloves overnight for basically a hand version of an overnight facial.

I have fine hair so this is one I was surprised by how easy and effective it is. I have a lot of hairloss post baby and the regrowth is still coming through fully fluffy. Using a little balm – whatever is left on your fingers after you’ve used it on your cuticles would do the trick. Just smooth over those little fluffy areas to smooth them down and hold in place. It can work well to smooth over dry ends of hair too.
Go carefully if using before tanning as an oil will block tan from taking. So if you apply too liberally you might have pale patches – but that’s exactly where this comes in handy. Using the Palmer’s Coconut Oil Balm on those areas especially prone to absorbing the tan can avoid the tell-tale dark patches. Heels, toes, elbows, knees… My feet are always my problem area so I use on the spots I (no matter how many times I tan…) manage to end up going too dark to avoid the product taking there. Bonus that it’s moisturising in itself!

Of course a smooth soft balm like this is just perfect for the lips. Of course it’s a chunky pot, so not quite a ‘throw in the bag and go’ option. But as a multitasker like this it’s ideal for using all over as a pre-bed routines or similar. Just leave by the bed and apply before you go to sleep – to lips and anywhere that you need some hydrating.

This is just a snap shot of how many ways the new Palmer’s Coconut Oil Balm can be used. You can scoop it out and apply all over if you wish. Apply thickly as a mask for your feet. Apply to hair as a deep conditioner before a double cleanse. The options are endless. Why might you opt for this one over their original solid option? The scent – if you prefer coconut to cocoa butter then this is the one for you. Or you might just prefer the easy to use texture. For this you can just dip your fingers in where the cocoa butter one can need a little more work to get it going. Ultimately it comes down to your own taste but it’s good to know that whichever you choose there’s a thoroughly hydrating option for you!
