Skincare can be a labour of love, lots of time and effort. However, it doesn’t always have to be. There are a number of wonder products on the market that promise results that happen whilst you sleep. These products are some of my personal favourites. The ones that do all the effort for me whilst I snooze? What’s not to like about that. One of these exciting ‘works whilst you sleep’ options is a relatively new release from Murad called Murad Night Fix Enzyme Treatment.

However, in a world where skincare has potentially infinite steps and stages it can be hard to know which products go where in the routine and what role they play without taking things too far and overloading skin. Whilst I love a thorough skincare routine I don’t like to make a habit of over-selling steps or encouraging excess. It’s not needed so only talk about the brands and products I think are really special and worth a mention.
Which brings me back to the Murad Night Fix Enzyme Treatment. What is it and where does it come in the routine? This product sits in the Murad Hydration family of products – Murad has a great colour-coded system for different steps and skincare ranges. That doesn’t mean you have to pick one, but it gives an immediate recognition of which category a product sits in. Hydration is the purple range and that’s the one this one comes from.

The product itself is a light gel like texture. It has an immediate hydrating effect and feels lightweight on skin. The blurb of the product talks about the ‘chronopeptide and tri-enzyme treatment’ that ‘works in sync’ with your own circadian rhythm. One of the key details that makes this a night product is the addition of scent and the idea that the fragrance can be a support to sleep. However, on using this the fragrance is definitely not strong so if you’re not a fan of overbearing fragrance in skincare then you don’t need to worry about it in this one. The fragrance is almost not even noticeable.

Essentially this is a night time skin mask. Designed to be applied as a final step before bed. Which is where I find it useful. I have a routine of immediately after putting my daughter to bed the first thing I do is go and do my evening skincare routine. Thorough cleanse, any acids I’m using, serums and moisturiser. Then I head off to do whatever it is I’m doing that evening (most likely sitting on sofa watching TV…) Then when it comes to time for actual sleep, this is where I pull out the Night Fix. I use this as a final ‘cherry on top’ step for my skincare right before I go to bed. It feels like an extra burst of hydration before sleep and I do love how it makes my skin feel. Both immediately and in the morning.
Can I argue this is an essential step in every routine? No, not really. But it is a nice to have that’s a universally beneficial product for all skin types. It works well as an added extra if you feel something is missing – be that a bit of hydration, smoothing lines or just generally feeling lacklustre skin wise. It works as a nice easy pick me up. The texture actually really reminds me of the Chanel Night Mask that I love to, so that’s a bonus…
