Une make-up: a few bits I love

Sometimes when testing out/reviewing/playing with make-up there are those products that really wow you, there are those that just don’t work and then there are those other sneaky ones that don’t necessarily blow you away but do something that makes them earn a special place in the every day make-up routine.

I found a couple of those products from the Une range from Bourjois. Following it’s launch a few months ago I had a dew bits to try out (blogged about HERE) but it’s only now that I have realised how much an ‘essential’ part of my daily routine a couple of these have become – it was when I hit pan on one that it made me realise. Wow, I must really like this!

There are three products I have been using regularly – two of which are daily essentials for me now:

– Healthy Glow Mineral Powder in shade ‘H04’
– Sfumato Eyes Pencil in ‘S24’

The other one that I use regularly, but not quite as much as the other two is:

– Eye Brow Pencil in ‘B01’

Why do I like them so much? Quite simple really, lovely colours, lovely textures and they do what I want them to. The Healthy Glow Powder is a peachy shade that I use as a finishing powder – manages to  get rid of excess shine and set foundation, without making me look all powdery and dull. The Sfumato Eyes pencil is a lovely blue/purple/grey shade that I think is ideal for my blue eyes for daytime definition – without looking too heavy. I use this to define the lower lash line, it applies easily without dragging and lasts.

(The Healthy Glow Powder is swatched heavily to try and show the shade)

The Eye Brow Pencil is also really nice, the first one I have found that suits me and my pale brows without looking ‘too much’. The only reason I talk about this slightly separately is that I don’t regularly have time to do my brows properly (which I know I should as I know it makes a difference) but now I have a fringe they are easy to ignore!

So there we have it – a couple of reasonably non-descript products that have worked their way into my daily make-up routine. Both of which I plan to re-purchase – especially the Healthy Glow Powder.

Do you have any of this sort of product? Something that’s wormed it’s way into your heart, despite a humble beginning?

Une is available in Boots stores now.

I use my UNE eyebrow pencil everyday! Mine is a much darker brown than yours… and it’s just a perfect colour and waxy enough to stay on all day but without looking fake and shiny.

I always find these kind of products really interesting – the kind of cheaper non-descript ones that end up being fabulous, with packaging that would definitely not make you look twice. I’ll definitely give these a go now I’ve read your review.
Great blog by the way! I’m a new blogger 🙂 so any tips and hints would be greatly appreciated.

    Much love,

the une stuff looks great. I like the colours and that its eco conscious, but their website doesnt say if they test on animals, plus the contact link on their doesnt work which is really annoying. I wish companies would state this clearly on the packaging or on their website.

I have been using the mineral foundation powder for about one month now after suffering from a terrible outbreak of boils/acne from my Mac liquid foundation. It is wonderful, my skin has cleared up completely and now has a glow I haven’t had for years which is complimented by the mineral foundation. You can build up the coverage and even use your clean fingers to cover any scars/broken veins. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
