My Current Skin Care Routine

I thought I’d do a little post about the current skin care routine I’m using, as I’m finding that it’s really working for me. It’s been consistent for about 2-3 weeks and I tend to find that if it wasn’t working – my skin would have told me by now by either turning into a pizza face or drying up like the sahara.

At the moment I’m really mixing and matching brands and products that are designed for different skin conditions/types as different parts of my face need different things.

Face Wipes – Witch Face Wipes* or Neutrogena Deep Clean

Really like both of these wipes, cleansing without being drying. I’m using these for a quick/lazy cleanse post-work and as a pre-cleanse before following with my cleanser. The Neutrogena ones I tried a while ago and have since re-purchased a few times, the Witch ones are a fairly recent addition.

Cleanser – Witch Foaming Face Wash*

Loving this, especially when I use with with the Clarisonic*. It feels nice to use (it comes out of the packaging as a foam) and my skin feels really clean after use. It does feel a little dry sometimes, but that is taken care of by my current moisturiser of choice.

Eye Make Up Revover – No7 Cleanse and Care

This is my go-to eye make-up remover, will constantly repurchase as I love it – takes every last bit off, without leaving residue.

Exfoliator – The Body Shop Tea Tree Exfoliating Pads or Witch Gentle Exfoliator*

I’m using two exfoliators at the moment, for different purposes. The Body Shop pads I’m using just on my chin and nose, where I tend to get breakouts/black heads and I think they are working a treat. I’m confident that my black heads are dissapearing/less noticeable since I started using these about three weeks ago – I only use every other day as don’t want to abuse my skin too much.

I’m also using the Witch Gentle Exfoliator every couple of days on the rest of my face, it really does as it says on the bottle – exfoliates, but is also gentle. The scrubby bits aren’t packed in and they are in a heavy gel texture liquid, so it’s not too harsh on the skin. I’ve also been using this on my upper arms (darn Keratosis Pilaris…).

Moisturiser – Nivea Pure and Natural Day Cream*

I’m still really loving this cream, it’s quite thick and very moisturising so perfect after the Witch Foaming Face Wash. I have also been using my Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster* around the eye area where I need an extra shot of moisture.

Night Treatment – The Sanctuary Therapist’s Secret Facial Oil*

A couple of times a week as a bit of a skin treat I have also been using this wonderful oil. Doesn’t leave my skin feeling like a chip pan in the morning, just wonderfully hydrated and plumped up.

Face Mask – Mario Badescu Super Collagen Mask

I mentioned this in my HQhair post the other day and since then have used it twice – so this is a somewhat early impression. But I really like this mask, it’s a perfect balance between being deep cleansing and moisturising (both of which I want from a mask, not easy to find…) so very impressed. I’ll need to do a full review of it soon.

So there we have my current skin care routine. Shocking amount of products, but they are working for me!

One of the reasons I chose to post this now is that I am in the middle of a ‘Challenge Week’ where I’m really putting my skin to the test, using some new make-up products that promise to take care of the skin… I’ll tell you more post-challenge, stay tuned!

I love skincare post and what people are currently using. I think that it is such a hit and miss process to find products which work, and I find that once I have found something which works I then get bored! Thanks for this Jan x
