Spring nails and make-up in general usually means pastels, pastels and more pastels…which is why I really like this collection from Orly, because it’s not just the typical pastel selection. It has a hint of pastel, but with the added interest of some darks and brights in there for a mix – I love the red and yellow brights, they actually feel more Spring like in a way as they remind me of tulips, which are about as Spring-like as can be!
The two shades from the collection I’ve been using are Boho Bonnet (grey lilac) and High on Hope (dark purple metallic)…
Boho Bonnet is my ideal pastel sort of shade – but with just enough grey in it to keep it from being sickly sweet for a pastel shade. Just a couple of coats and this one is opaque, it also works really well as a base for the various glitter/textures that are all over the place right now (more on these on a future blog post!)
High On Hope is very similar to Mac Factor Fantasy Fire – it has that blue/purple/shimmer combination that’s really special. I have to say this is better quality than the Max Factor version as the colour looks much stronger and the shimmer shines consistently rather than just in some light.
Overall – I love this selection of shades. So good to see something outside of the usual pastel predictable selection!
What nail shades are you loving for Spring??
