This is basically a little shopping (cough *haul* cough – still don’t like that word) post on a few Dior bits and bobs I’ve been picking up here and there recently… some of which are still to be tested others have already made their way into my firm favourites list. But as I know there’s a lot of buzz around the BB cream I wanted to share my initial thoughts now and will of course do a full review asap.
This was a two part shopping spree for me – it started with a trip to Debenhams where I spent some time chatting to a wonderful lady on their counter in the Oxford Street store, she was something of a rarity in a department store beauty hall – really knew her stuff, promoted the brand but managed to not be at all pushy. Oh, and she had the most amazing looking skin – so this made me even more curious when she put this down to a combination of Dior Skincare and a raw food diet (curious about the skincare, I can’t face the idea of only eating raw food…although if my skin looked as good as hers, then I would consider it!)
So on this occasion I picked up the Diorskin Nude Concealer, the blusher and the Lip Glow. The concealer and the Lip Glow had both been on my lust list for a while and the blusher was one I’ve always cooed over but never thought it was me – but she tried it on me and I fell for it. Purchase made, I was also happy she popped in a few fragrance and skincare samples for me. Of these I have started using the concealer and it’s impressive but I’m not totally blown away – it’s really good coverage – I tiny amount goes a really long way but I’m not sure if it’s quite hydrating enough for me around my eyes.
Then, as if the one purchase just spurred me to full on Dior addict…when passing through the airport I made my way straight to the Dior counter with one purchase in mind – the BB cream (I went for Shade 02). I’d heard a huge amount of buzz about it so couldn’t resist and at duty free prices it would have been rude not to! This is the one I have been using for a week now and it’s firmly in my favourites list. I won’t do a full review here as will save that for a separate post – but I love it and if you’re on the fence then I say go for it. Best things about it are the coverage is light to medium and the finish isn’t too shiny like other BB cream. It really does do the whole ‘my skin but better’ thing.
Whilst I was there I also spotted the latest Spring/Summer ‘Bird of Paradise’ collection – whilst the turquoise addict in me was very, very, tempted by the turquoise combo of polishes I instead went for a gorgeous corally pink lipstick. Again, this hasn’t yet been used but will be tried, tested and reviewed asap!
So that’s it for my little Dior spree….the beginnings of a long term love affair I think! Any Dior recs very welcome…(can you believe I’ve never tried DiorShow mascara?! Next on the list…)
