Benefit Stay Flawless Primer

The ever-lust-worthy Benefit have a new addition to their complexion offering, in the form of a long lasting primer. The new Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer offers exactly that – a primer that helps your make-up last up to 15 hours. Which sounds like a pretty big claim! So wonder how it fares…

First up, a little look at the rest of the range that Stay Flawless is joining. First up there’s the ‘Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW foundation’ – quite a mouthful of a name, but an absolute wonder if you have dry or dull skin. Then there’s the Hello Flawless Powder – really finely milled and a gorgeous combination with the foundation if you need to pat down a shiny t-zone.

But now there’s the new kid on the block – the Stay Flawless primer. A skin-coloured creamy stick that you apply a little like the old fashioned Max Factor Pan Stick – all over the face, quick quickly then with a touch of blending so it’s covered where needed. This creates the perfect base to create a long lasting bond between your skin and your Hello Flawless Foundation.

You do need to apply and blend the primer fairly quickly – as it ‘sets’ in record time and if you had any slightly patchier bits it could spoil the overall effect. Then, when applying your foundation on top it creates a really amazing finish. I actually love the finish of this combination gives more so than just Hello Flawless on it’s own.

As someone with combination skin this primer has made Hello Flawless foundation far more perfect for me than it was previously. It means I can get all the benefit of the glow-giving for my drier areas but the primer makes it stay put on the oilier t-zone. What a fabulous combination – high five to the Benebabes!

It doesn’t but when applied it goes on translucent. I think the tint is pretty much invisible when applied. x

Glad to see a review of this product! I am always a little hesitant to buy primers but this primer matched with Hello Flawless foundation sounds lovely. I will have to try it! I am a Benefit cosmetic junky πŸ™‚

It looks hard to apply as a stick? was it easy?

    • June 26, 2013 / 1:53 pm

It’s not hard, but you do have to be quick before it ‘sets’ x

I’ve been hankering after the Hello Flawless stuff for a while and like you I also have combination skin. Is there any way of seeing a before and after photo of you and this range? I dunno, think it may help.

Will definitely give it a mention in my next face post where it will be used so hope that can give you an idea – it’s hard to do before & after though as basically looks the same, but stays looking the same for longer πŸ™‚

I haven’t tried Hourglass so wouldn’t be able to say – but this primer is lovely for a long lasting finish!
