I was going through my collection of ‘to blog’ bits and realised I had a few of the rather gorgeous Maybelline Colour Sensational range just ready and waiting to be tried and tested – so rather than popping them all together in one post I decided to dedicate a different post to each one (and may just do a little round up comparison of them all when I’m done) but starting with with stunner – not for the faint hearted!
This is the perfect example of a colour that looks more daunting in the tube than it does applied – though that’s not to say the colour is subtle or easy to wear. It’s a bright, bright fuchsia when on the lips – a gorgeous colour and I absolutely love it.
The bullet is a deep purple, but you can see it’s sheer and not too creamy pigmented it’s a perfect Summer colour to take you from day to night! I also have a slightly sneaky suspicion that this might be a comparable budget version of the YSL Rouge Volupte number 19 that there’s been a lot of buzz around since the lovely Lisa Eldridge gave it a mention. That’s a similar deep purple bullet that looks much brighter on the lips.
Texture wise, these are really nice and moisturising and not at all drying. If you prefer a creamier lipstick these might be slightly on the sheer side but can be layered if you want a stronger look. Overall – a lovely budget friendly lipstick and I’m looking forward to showing you a few more gorgeous shades from across the range (including a mix of vivids and regular range)
