I’ve been keeping things pretty simple on the make-up front during August, leaning towards BB or CC cream over foundation. Then sticking to a few of my tried and tested beauty loves – a few of which will no doubt be becoming quite familiar now as they’re cropping up time and time again – for good reason, they’re fab! So time to take a look at my current daily beauty favourites…

These products are my regular go-to for a weekday face, not that my weekend face changes all that much to be honest. I maybe just tend to wear even less make-up at weekends than in the week. Usually sticking to a BB/CC base, a touch of concealer, mascara, brows and blush. But for the week my daily picks are:

Origins Smarty Plants CC Cream *(01 light to medium) – I’m still not totally buying the BB/CC craze in terms of a name for a product, but as actual products and as lighter bases that are that happy medium between moisturiser and foundation. I adore them – and this new launch CC cream from Origins is definitely one of the best in my opinion. If you have combination skin like I do then I can’t stress how fab this is – it’s a great mixture between hydrating and keeping shine at bay. No mean feat, so more than happy to have this in my daily beauty arsenal.

Dior Diorskin Nude Concealer* (001) – a really good concealer, very pigmented so offers great coverage, but hydrating too. The 001 shade is a touch on the light side for me at the end of summer but for under-eyes it’s great as offers a bit of a brightening effect. A tiny amound of this goes a really long way.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer* – This is only a little travel size of this one, so I definitely think I need to stock up on the big size as this is great for creating a smooth base for shadow and keeping it in place all day. I also use this sometimes without shadow just to offer an evening and brightening effect on lids that lasts.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Khol * (nude) – a great eye-brightener. Used on the inner rim, it counters any redness at all and leaves eyes looking fresh and wide. Much more flattering that white khol that used to be a bit of a trend to make eyes look bigger. This is much more natural and can held concealer in it’s job of hiding tiredness or late nights.

Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow *(Cement) – Not as a shadow, but as a brow filler, this has been my favourite for months. It’s the ideal mix between grey and light brown so it has some warmth, but not too much. Flattering and natural looking for blondes – the Bobbi Brown brow brush is also the best I’ve tried. Well worth the investment.

Bobbi Brown Blusher *(Peony) – This is another familiar one that’s been popping up in my favourites for a while. I adore the bright pink shade, brings back life to my cheeks even when I’m feeling like I death warmed up.

Aerin Pretty Bronze Illuminating Powder *(02) – I love the combination of this over the flush of pink of the Bobbi Brown Peony. It delivers a sort of peachy pink combination with a bit of a shimmer. Gives cheeks a glow, without making them glittery. Aerin really is the ultimate is gorgeous capsule collection.

Bobbi Brown Intensifying Mascara* (Black) – Yet another favourite that’s been popping up over and over. This is a mascara that it took me a couple of uses to really like it – but when I did, it wasn’t just like, it was love. It has a very fine brush with short but fluffy bristles that makes getting into the tiniest of lashes easy, plus the formula is a long wearing one, not quite waterproof but will really withstand a lot. Will be repurchasing for sure.

MAC Eyeshadow (Grand Entrance) – I’m back on the eyeshadow bandwagon, and loving this classic MAC shade. A shimmering peachy champagne shade that’s just gorgeous for day-to-day. Grand Entrance is apparently a Limited Edition, which I really didn’t realise and don’t even remember where I got it from – it might have been in the CCO at Bicester. But Naked Lunch is a very similar shade

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner (Moray) – For just a touch of extra definition around the eyes I’ve been using this olive shade of Stila Smudge Stick. I vary where I use this between the lower lashes and as liner across the top but I think it works well with Grand Entrance.

It really is gorgeous! There’s also a lighter, slightly pinkier blush/bronzer hybrid that I’ve got my eyes on too!x

Thanks 🙂 I do keep it quite simple, but wouldn’t feel like ‘me’ if I tried anything else else!

The Bobbi brown blush looks gorgeous! This may sound strange, but I love seeing fellow beauty bloggers that also have freckles like me; I used to think it was too difficult to wear blush or bronzer but just how gorgeous it looks on you and others with freckles has convinced me otherwise! Overall, I really enjoy reading your blog!

Thank you! Personally, I love freckles! Not everyone does and some people try to cover them but I like to let them show! X
