The timing of the Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Collection * couldn’t be more perfect – who doesn’t need a bit of extra glow at this time of year? Rainy, windy, cold – generally miserable weather all adds up and makes for less glow and more ‘meh’. But the collection is all about giving that glow back, and these two palettes are pretty little examples of how to do this. With a series of skin-highlighting powders, sheer lipsticks and pretty nail colours the collection is all about an all over touch of radiance. In the typically neutral (ah, my happy place) colours that Bobbi Brown is oh-so-good at.
The collection is split into three, with a bronze, a crystal and a nude variant of each product. These two palettes are the bronze and the nude offerings from each. Each contains four shadows within a pretty chrome compact with a mixture of matte and neutral. With the nude version having two matte and two shimmer and the bronze having three shimmer and one matte. The bronze is the warmer toned set of the two and the nude the cooler/taupe type of colours.
Both palettes are really very pretty – with impressively pigmented and smooth shades in each. On first look I decided the Nude one was my favourite, but on swatching I fell for the Bronze one – just look at how pretty that shade second from the right is? The shimmering mid toned bronze? Absolutely gorgeous. I also really like the matte in the bronze palette as it leans towards the orange side of things, which I find is flattering on blue eyes.
I feel like the taupe shades in the nude palette lend themselves to a slightly more natural looking effect – more like shadow and definition than adding colour. Then the bronze shades are for a slightly more obvious look – the two bronze colours on the right would make a very pretty smokey eye. The slightly more grey of the two matte shades in the nude palette reminds me of ‘Cement’ by Bobbi Brown that’s been my go-to eyebrow powder for the past year.
