Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Escape to Panarea

Ok, so the warm Summer days do appear to have truly left us. But all the more reason to cling on (somewhat desperately) to those memories of sunshine and holidays through the sense of smell. I’ve talked before about how much I love it when a scent can take you back to a holiday or a time in your life just with one sniff. Because of this I love to choose new scents for big moments or special holidays. This year was a bit full of big moments so far for me – one of which being our honeymoon. So I thought this would be the perfect testing ground for the fragrance.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is a classic a Summer scent as you can get really. And as someone who loves light, summery scents I’m surprised that this limited edition bottle is the first I’ve actually tried of it. This is the Limited Edition Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Escape to Panarea edition – described by Stefano Gabbana as “Panarea is the island of love. Here, summer nights are lit by a thousand candles, spend on terraces overlooking glittering blue waters, with the feeling that you are suspended in time, between the sea and stars.”

A description that basically makes me want to pack up my life and move there. How dreamy does it all sound?! For me, the scent of this will now forever be associate with my honeymoon and whilst I’ve worn it since I got back the memory is already there and one whiff and I’m back in seriously hot Egypt enjoying snoozing in the sun and being more relaxed than I’ve felt in months! The description above just takes me back to nights overlooking the Red Sea with the sparkle of the various resorts along the coastline from our Honeymoon suite room. Ah if only to be back in the hot, hot, Egyptian sun (or at least in the shade enjoying the heat…). Until next Summer… I shall be clinging on to the memories with this!
