So imagine this for a moment. You’re sat at your laptop casually tapping away, blogging here, tweeting there, catching up with emails and *ping* in drops an email that catches your eye. Oh, hello email from O2 inviting me down to the launch of the new iPhone6s at Westfield… with a bit of a fun twist to it. Anyone who grew up in the 80’s and 90’s… and apparently a whole load of students who are just starting uni now… will know that if I say ‘The Chuckle Brothers’ then you will probably immediately have their famous catch phrase pop into your head.
‘To me! To you!’
So, as someone who definitely grew up watching the chuckle brothers I couldn’t say no to the idea of heading down to Westfield to meet them as they held my place in the line to get the new iPhone6s for me. Which is sort of funny (as one person on twitter pointed out to me) as aren’t they known for dropping everything?! Are they the right people to be trusted with a brand new shiny iPhone6s ?! Well, I was willing to give it a shot!

So after a bright and early start to the day, I arrived at Westfield to be greeted with quite possibly the most random line of people in my life. Plus The Chuckle Brothers standing at the front of the queue holding a card with my name on it.
Then of course THIS happened:
Oh, and this…
Honestly, at 7am in the morning I don’t think I’ve ever smiled quite as much as I did. Who wouldn’t smile when faced with a line that consisted of The Chuckle Brothers, Morph Suits, Cheerleaders, Women on Stilts, Gorillas and all sorts. I was promised a peculiar queue and that’s certainly what O2 delivered. Somewhat different to the time back a year or so a go when I was so determined to get the latest iPhone I headed down to Oxford Street before opening time to wait in the rain with a few other keen-bean people! Much more fun than that!
Thank you O2 – you did the impossible and made waiting in a queue actually quite fun… by technically meaning I didn’t have to! Having been a customer of O2 since I was at Uni it was fab to be involved in such a fun activity that wasn’t just involving myself as a blogger – the people who places were being held for were also a mixture of customers and competition winners too – a truly random collective of people!
Also, just in case you’re wondering – yes, The Chuckle Brothers are very much themselves in real life 😉 and how they have so much energy I’ll never know! They were zipping off after the morning in the queue with o2 to do another university club appearance! Impressive stuff!
The iPhone6s & iPhone6s Plus are available on O2 now – via www.o2.co.uk and O2 stores nationwide. In a UK first, customers buying iPhone6S and 6S Plus on O2 will be eligible to get a new phone exactly one year later, without having to pay off their old agreement or wait until the end of their contract.
