Body Confidence ~ Bio Oil {Beauty & WIN}

In all honestly body confidence couldn’t be timed any better for me. I’ve been having a bit of a low when it comes to body confidence lately – confidence in general actually – but being asked to share some of my tips for body confidence is a well timed reminder to take some time to focus on doing those things to feel more confident and happy in my own skin.

I think it’s pretty normal to have up and down times in life – especially when it comes to body confidence. When everywhere you look there are visions of seeming perfection it can make you feel like you don’t quite measure up to the same standards. Or that you need to change or do something else. Never mind throwing in things like airbrushing, filters, face tune or even plastic surgery. I am well aware this makes me sound ancient, but I am glad I’m not a teenager in today’s world. The pressure to be perfect is immense – and perfection seems to have jumped up a few rungs since I was younger. Body confidence is something I’ve written about before (here) which is one of the reasons why I really like the new campaign from Bio Oil.

So this post is for me to take a moment to share mine.

Firstly, totally avoiding all the filters/surgery – how do I make myself feel a bit better about myself without extreme therapy being needed… When I’m feeling less than confident I start by taking a bit of me-time. It’s funny how feeling less confident often goes hand in hand with being busy – meaning some things often fall by the wayside. So on two fronts taking time to pamper and do those luxury beauty routines can really make you feel 10x better in the space of an hour or two. A lovely pampering bath, a good head to toe scrub, a proper de-fuzz topped off with a really hydrating moisturiser.

Writing this post really got me thinking as to what my body philosophy is. My number one though and feeling – and something that whilst I wholly believe it, I am guilty of forgetting to do this myself (right now is the perfect example) is that your body and health is something worth investing in. And by investing I mean time, energy and money. By time I mean take time to pamper yourself and to do exercise that makes you feel good. By energy I mean take the time to cook yourself something delicious and healthy or make it a priority to book and go to an exercise class – even if you feel too tired. Lastly money – a tricky one as sometimes budget just says no. But where you can buy yourself lovely products that make your skin feel good and if you need to do a class to motivate you to exercise then find one you love (even if it might cost a bit more). If you love it (and if it costs) you’re less likely to skip it and therefore will feel better about yourself if you made that effort to invest in yourself. So my body philosophy.

    This really rang a bell with me – since turning 50 and becoming a grandma, I have neglected all my old routines. I can’t remember the last time I painted my nails or had a luxurious bath instead of a quick shower! I am going to get my body confidence back by allowing myself a set time each day just for pampering! Thank you x

    Being a mum to two kids, working and looking after my ill dad means I get very little time for myself. I think it is time to start saving a few minutes a day for me.

    I think it’s important to take some time to take care of ourselves, as our lives can become so hectic, we neglect our bodys. Just stopping and doing little things for ourselves, can help de-stress us and make us value ourselves a bit more x

    My body philosophy is it’s not about what others think of you but what you think and how you feel about yourself. Personally, if something is making me feel bad about myself I will try to cut whatever that is out my life. It’s all about getting rid of the negativity and trying to introduce positivity into my life!

    My body philosophy is that you have to be happy in your own skin. You have to love yourself. Once you accept yourself and love yourself you can love and accept others. Also, it is important to age with grace. We have to take care of ourselves. You don’t have to use the most expensive products, but good quality, natural based products like Bio-Oil. I’ve been using it for months now and it has made a huge difference in my skin’s texture, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. Finally, it’s important to be a positive force in this world. One’s stress levels are lower being positive and you attract more people. In the end, being positive cannot hurt anyone and can only bring goodness to your life. We have to take care of ourselves. Since this is the only one body we get.

    My body philosophy is that you have to be good to your body. Yiou only get one body in this life, so it is important to care for your body by eating right, exercising, watching your stress levels and of course taking good care of your skin. I think it is also crucial to be positive and spread positivity instead of negativity in this world. Finally, aging gracefully can be accomplished with natural products such as Bio-Oil. I know because I have been using it for montbs and I love wgat it has done for my skin’s texture, fine lines and hyperpigmentation. All of these have been reduced drastically. Ussing natural oils is my main defense against aging and ut works. We all have to get older, but we don’t have to look like it.

    My #bodyphilosophy is not to conform to what everyone else thinks you should look like, dress like or act.
    After years of bullying at school & my self confidence really low I am now able to say I’m happy with the way I am & don’t care if I don’t dress like everyone else or dolled up to take the kids to school

    My body philosophy is that you have to love yourself before others can love you… I have low self esteem and went through a period of constant negative talk. I only realised when my boyfriend pointed it out and said it was really bringing him down. I make a conscious effort now to only say positive things about myself, if anything at all, and our relationship has flourished ever since. I really do feel like he feels free to love me (warts an all!!) now I have stopped pointing out all my “faults”.

    I am a grandfather aged 70 and I put aside a little me time every day, during which I do some light exercise – bends and stretches, nothing too strenuous! I also moisturise to keep the wrinkles at bay (don’t forget those earlobes chaps – they can be a real giveaway). I fully agree with those who promote healthy eating and have made “cooking from scratch” a way of life – at least then you know what is on your plate. I also applaud Jamie Oliver’s campaign against sugar – there’s far too much sugar (and salt) in many prepared foods, so take control and treat your body like the temple it was meant to be.

    #bodyphilosophy Mine is to take some time out of my day just to concentrate on me. Don’t know the last time I put a face mask on (so relaxing) or painted my nails. Trying to look after myself more and eat healthily. Starting by drinking more water and eating more fruit.

    Something i have learned as i have got older.You can’t change what you are born with,Unless of course you have loads of money.So when you are happy in your own skin so to speak you ooze confidence.You see confident people and they have their flaws.People will except you for what/who you are.If they do’nt that his their problem.

    My body philosophy is to love the skin you’re in. Loving my skin means looking after it, cleansing and moisturising.. However, life is too short to spend it hating how I look. I exercise (run or cycle) 3-4 times a week. I try to eat healthily most of the time, although I do enjoy the occasional treat.

    My body philosophy is to be yourself….dont just wear a certain style of clothes because its in fashion or because everyone else is wearing it. Wear clothes that flatter your shape and that you feel comfortable in ! .Wearing the right clothes that fit you properly and make you feel good is always a confidence booster..basically DO YOU

    Eat a good healthy diet with plenty of fruit veg and water then you don’t need to waste money on all those expensive chemical based creams
