Eye cream has long been an obsession of mine – I am lucky (sense a little sarcasm) to have developed lines around my eyes from younger than I ‘should’ have done and using an eye cream became essential from my early twenties. Mainly because I found dehydration was a big factor in the lines being exaggerated. So my ongoing quest to find an eye cream that was just as good as the affects of botox goes on. Slight spoiler – there’s no eye cream out there that really does the same as botox would, but finding a hydrating eye cream that keeps the area looking plump and softens those lines a bit is a good alternative if you’re not keen to go down the injections route. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment is one of those products that has a LOT of hype around it, but for some bizarre reason I had never tried it until recently. Honestly, I’m kicking myself. How much of a muppet am I for waiting THIS long to try it out?!
The Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment is pretty much a product of cult-classic status. I’ve heard many others rave about it, so I’m still a bit baffled why it took me this long to give it a whirl. What can I say, I’m easily distracted.
But I did try it and wanted to share with you what I think. The texture is indeed creamy. The colour of the cream has a bit of yellow/green tinge to it – either a nod to or a direct result of the avocado in there. The cream feels thick and hydrating but not too heavy. I find it sort of melts into skin and creates a lighter texture as it is massaged in. It feels a little like it changes from cream to water in a way. It absorbs into skin and immediately plumps up fine lines and hydrates. The best bit though? The hydration really lasts – in a way that so many eye creams fail to.
As my word is just one person – I thought I’d also add a little mini second review of the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment from a friend who tried it when staying with me recently. Of a few beauty bits she got to have a play the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment was the one she came to me exclaiming how amazing it was – loving how it melted into skin and the hydration didn’t just happen straight away but lasted.
So that’s two votes massively in favour of this cult classic – I’m just embarrassed I didn’t try it sooner because it really is fab and I can see me sticking with this for a long time.
