So, I have a little bit of news. You might already have spotted it on instagram but in case you didn’t here’s my little bit of news for you. Well, a big bit of news actually. If you’re me at least, it’s a pretty big deal. I know, your immediate thought is probably going OMG she’s pregnant. As apparently that’s the only sort of news it’s possible to have that’s big now a days!
Well, yes. In this case it’s true. I am in fact pregnant. Knocked up. Have a bun in the over. Growing an actual human baby. Ok, I’m freaking even myself out there.
Ollie and I are obviously absolutely delighted and I am SO excited to be able to share the news ‘publicly’ now – i.e. on the internet – as it’s felt like something I’ve wanted to shout from the rooftops along with tweeting random ‘is this normal?’ type questions to bend the ear of other pregnant people and mums.
When this goes up I’ll be 14 weeks, so officially into the second trimester. Which feels crazy in itself as in some ways it already feels like a lifetime since I found out, but it also seems like only five minutes ago at the same time. If that makes sense. It seemed like I might be stuck in the limbo zone of the first trimester forever at some points. With feeling sick pretty much all day every day, headaches, sore boobs, food aversions, cramps and a constant urge to nap. It wasn’t my happy place by a long way (that being said, it could have been worse so can’t complain too much) – but I’m happy that the majority of the sickness/headaches etc has eased off over the last couple of weeks and I definitely feel more like myself again. Albeit a version of myself that is slowly but surely getting a bit fatter everyday and still has some funny food things going on (don’t offer me red meat anytime soon please).
Baby Thorne is due mid-March 2018. Fingers crossed all will go smoothly and myself and baby will be well throughout. I am well and truly ready to embrace the joys of loose elasticated clothing and VERY much excited to be pregnant over winter where hibernation is encouraged. I will be blogging about pregnancy, baby and beyond things – partly because it’s going to be a huge part of my life going forward and also because over these past few weeks I have found so much support from being able to read other people’s posts and watch videos to get a bit of insight into what’s going on, what’s ‘normal’ (is there such a thing?) and reassurance for random worries.
I’m not going to go full on mum-blog, beauty will always have a place around these parts of the internet. But it’s only natural the blog will change a bit as it’s about as big of a life change as I can imagine so it would almost be odd for it not to change I think. But on the beauty note I would HUGELY appreciate any recommendations on pregnancy type beauty products, you know – the stretch mark ones, the ones to help me sleep etc.. any product (beauty or otherwise actually) tips very welcome. Since I’m basically clueless about this whole ‘having a baby’ thing.
But on the reassurance that billions of women have managed it before me…I’m sure I can handle it!
Such lovely news!! Congratulations!
Simply delighted for you, congratulations Jen and Ollie. xx
Congratulations to both of you, that’s such lovely news to hear.
Congratulations to you both
As I said on FB; huge congratulations! My tips: this stuff is awesome, start using asap: http://www.nealsyardremedies.com/mother-and-baby/mother-and-baby-care/1663.html And be religious about pelvic floor exercises. Nothing to do with beauty, but you want to keep that thing intact!
This is the first post I’ve ever seen of ours (thanks to Sam Champan) but I’m already so excited for you! You two seem like lovely people!
Thank you! Such a lovely way to discover my blog and thank you for leaving a comment on first read! x
Ah love I have absolutely NO idea how I didn’t see this before today, but I am SO bloody excited!! A HUGE congratulations to you both, I can’t wait to read your updates lovely! 🙂
