OPI Tokyo Collection 2019

I love to have my nails done, and for probably the last couple of years I’ve been regularly going to a local salon to get gel manicures. My local salon uses OPI (both regular and gel versions) so it’s always a good chance for me to test out the latest OPI collection but in a gel way.

I actually tried my favourite shade in the pro gel formula – the whole collection is available in regular polish, shine gel like finish and the pro gel.

The shades:

  • How Does Your Zen Garden Grow?: A creamy lime green shade
  • I’m on a Sushi Roll: A rich teal
  • Suzi-san Climbs Fuji-san: An emerald green
  • Tempura-ture is Rising: A bright orange red shade
  • Rice Rice Baby: A mauve shade
  • Another Ramen-tic Evening: A 90’s-ish dusty rose shade
  • Arigato From Tokyo: An orchid pink shade
  • Hurry-juku Get This Color: A berry pink
  • All Your Dream in Vending Machines: A bright electric pink shade
  • Samurai Breaks a Nail: Purple with shimmer
  • Kanpai OPI!: A grey and periwinkle blue
  • Chopstix and Stones: Cobalt blue with shimmer shade.

The collection is a real mix of bright, cream, subtle and shimmer shades. An eclectic and colourful mix of all sorts of colours. Having never been to Tokyo I can’t really understand the colours and how the location inspired it but I love the names as always. If there’s anyone who does creative product names it’s OPI.

My shade of choice is the lilac-grey/periwinkle type of colour. I like it so much I’ve had it as my gel manicure of choice twice in the last few months. It’s a great Spring shade and considering the latest Chanel Beauty Cruise Collection features a similar dusky lilac it’s clearly v.on trend DARLING!
