L’Oreal L’Or Electric Collection

L’Oreal recently released a new collection called L’Or Electric with a selection of products across their Colour Riche lipstick range, Colour Infallible pressed shadows and the Colour Riche nail colours (a range that already includes a gorgeous range of shades… one of which is my favourite blue).

So here are a few little piccies and swatches for you…

L-R: 402 ‘Electric Fushsia’, 404 ‘Prismatic Pink’, 407 ‘Metallic Coral’

I’m not a huge lover of frosted/shimmer finish lip shades – they’re great on people with fuller lips that aren’t prone to chapping… a shimmer finish is great if you have flawless lips as it does tend to show ever flaw! My favourite of the three is Metallic Coral – the shimmer is less subtle in this one and the pigment is high. The formula is creamy and feels nice on the lips.

These are the highlight of the collection for me – I hadn’t tried the Colour Infallible pressed pigment shadows before, and as a first time – I’m totally in love. Colour wise, the purple/grey shade is the more wearable – and usually I would shy away from the coral, but since I discovered orange shades are a God-send for blue eyes… this one is actually much more appealing than I thought!

Texture and shade wise, I’m loving these and really want to try out more shades. I’m rubbish with loose pigment – one breeze and I’ll knock it over or drop fallout all over my face. So for me, this is the ideal compromise – all the gorgeous colour of a pigment, but in a pressed format, where it’s not messy, but looser than a normally pressed shadow. Seriously, these are gorgeous.
Next up are the three nail shades from the collection – all with a metallic shimmer running through them. I love the colours, and the deep blue is my favourite overall – although the coral-red is the most obvious choice for Summer… The mid blue/slightly turquoise is pretty too but the deeper blue takes the favourite crown for me!

Electric Blue, Oceanic Blue, Chromatic Violet

I really like the shades in this collection, although I can’t help but think the shades are slightly out of the norm for Spring/Summer. Definitely not a bad thing – it’s nice to have a change from the usual Spring pastels/Summer brights.

My top picks from the collections are definitely the Colour Infallible shadows and Electric Blue nail colour. Which bits from the collection stand out to you?

I really like Metallic Coral, but I’m with you on frosted finishes – I’m not really a fan, and had the same thoughts when I purchased some L’oreal Color Riche lipsticks recently. I grabbed them in a hurry in the airport, so hadn’t had a chance to check them out properly. I did love the Color Riche Serum one I got in Radiant Rose though.
The eyeshadows and nail polishes are all really pretty.
