My Essie collection (part 1)

I have a major weakness for Essie polishes, this used to be something I mostly indulged in online or on trips to the US where I could raid the shelves of drugstores. I’ve got a mixture of a collection, with some full size bottles and some mini bottles from the mini sets I also have a bit of a weakness for… But I decided to do a little collection post (a two-parter) with the full size bottles first and then another post on the mini bottles.

Top row L-R: 

Moisturising Base Coat – doesn’t really count as a colour but a great basic
Mint Candy Apple – pale turquoise/mint shade
Cute as a Button (x2…oops) – the perfect coral pink (in my opinion)
Too Too Hot – hot cherry red, no shimmer
Smooth Sailing – mid toned creamy blue with silver shimmer, has a slightly purple tone to it
Bobbing for Baubles* – murky navy blue (slighly greyed out navy)
Bottom row L-R:
Shine of the times – sparkle/flakie top coat
Buy me a Cameo – shimmering pale copper/rose gold-ish neutral shade
Master Plan – warmish murky grey
Demure Vixen – a murky-ish purple, with purple shimmer
Chinchilly – a grurple (murky grey-purple)
To Buy or Not to Buy – lilac with purple and blue shimmer
Splash of Grenadine – purple/pink mix

This is just a little look at the colours I’ve chosen rather than full swatch pictures – but any swatches I’ve done I’ve linked in the shade names and any I haven’t done but you would like to see then please let me know in the comment below and I’ll do them for NOTD posts asap! 

Worth a mention is the difference between the original Essie polishes and the ones recently launched into Boots/Superdrug. The new diffusion line in Superdrug and Boots to me is far better quality and application – mostly down to the brush style. But the wider, shorter brush makes a world of difference in the ease of application. I almost forgot this so when my most recent ebay purchase arrived and had the long brush (To Buy or Not to Buy was the latest FYI) I was a little disappointed as its just not as easy to use as the diffusion line ones. 
As I have two of these (Cute as a Button – one which is a US purchase and one that is the diffusion line) I can do a comparison if anyone is interested – again – comment below to let me know if this is something you want to see!?
