Bobbi Brown: Navy and Nude Collection

When it comes to make-up collections and seasonal releases, Bobbi Brown is without a doubt top of my list. I’m always keen to see what they do next and I love how they manage to tweak and reinvent the different takes on flattering neutral make-up options and make it desirable, wearable and unique all at the same time. One of the latest examples of this is the Navy and Nude collection – there are a whole host of different products from this collection that deserve a mention but I decided to focus on my top two choices. A stunning highlighter for a pretty glow and a jelly type lip gloss for a rosy lips look that’s pretty and natural at the same time.

The All Over Brightening Brick is a great alternative to the uber-shimmery ‘Shimmer Brick’ from Bobbi Brown – offering a more subtle glow it adds that bit of brightening all over, but a nice highlight if focussed on the cheekbones. It’s an ideal during the day glow-giver without leaving yourself looking like a glitter ball. Plus the combination of peachy pinky shades really perk up skin.

Then there’s the gorgeous sheer lipgloss in ‘Sailor’ – what a perfect name for a navy and nude collection!? This shade is described as a rosy pink tint, and I guess that’s about right. It’s definitely rosy, leaning towards the sheer red side of things. But there’s definitely a pinkyness to it too. I’m not usually a lipgloss sort of girl, but I like how this is a sheer colour wash rather than a creamy colour. It does add colour, but still manages to look quite natural at the same time.

For the face shots above I used these two as the main products, plus the Bobbi Brown BB cream as a base, a touch of Aerin Bronzer for a bit of colour on the cheeks (didn’t want to go blusher to compete with the lip shade) and lashings of mascara (Clinique Waterproof). A simple look that sticks on the natural side of things as usual – another thing I love Bobbi Brown for!

The collection is limited edition, so if you want it – track it down asap! There’s also a lovely bronzing gel in the collection if you want to keep your Summer glow going!

That highlighter looks absolutely gorgeous! Bobbi Brown have been getting better and better over the past year or so, whereas before all I went to the counter for was the gel liners.

Bobbi Brown is coming out with a lovely collection of nudes I find. I was already thinking of buying the nude eyeshadow pallette and now that you say that this brightening brick is less shimmery than the shimmer brick I want it even more. I love the shimmer brick but sometimes I wished it was less shimmery.
