Mavala are best known for their nail offerings – across the spectrum from care to colour – but they have just launched a lipstick collection. So you can get the Mavala lipstick to compliment your nail look too. The collection is fairly small – six shades – but manages to cover all bases from red to pink to nude. The packaging does feel a little bit on the dated side but the formulation is really impressive – creamy and hydrating with build-able colour. So you can go for a sheer look, or a darker/brighter shade if you prefer.
The six shades are:
601 Velvet Peach – a peachy pink that’s brighter on the lips than it looks in the bullet. The colour is creamy and quite pink toned.
602 Rose Vintage – a ‘typical’ rosey pink lipstick, but another that looks a tad brighter on the lips than in the bullet.
603 Glam Pink – A bright Barbie pink that is the most fun looking of the bunch.
604 Mystic Violet – A dark berry in the bullet, when applied this turns into a brighter pink. Slightly darker than the Glam Pink shade, but along the same sort of lines.
605 Powder Rose – The nude of the bunch, a sheer peachy nude. Very much the ‘my lips but better’ shade.
606 Poppy Red – the bright red of the collection, with an orange tone to it. Adore this shade – so bright and a modern red. Gorgeously pigmented.
As you can probably tell, my favourite is Poppy Red – I am a sucker for orange-toned reds. I also really like the bright pink/violet shade – 603 and 604. My least favourite/least likely to wear for me is Rose Vintage, purely because it doesn’t really suit my skintone. But as I said – whilst the collection is compact, there’s a good mix of shades in there for everyone. Which catches your eye?
