My Jo Malone addiction is getting seriously out of hand. If only they could stop totally nailing the scent market.. don’t even get me started on the Wood Sage and Sea Salt, it deserves an entire post of it’s own. But more on that soon. For now, let’s take a look at this dark and moody bottle of Jo Malone Cologne Intense Tuberose Angelica. Firstly, the Cologne Intense scents aren’t the sort of thing that will win everyone over – as the name suggests. They’re intense, so not always for the faint hearted/nosed. This is no exception – it’s a scent that will probably fall into the Marmite love/hate category. You will either adore or hate it.
Note wise, the top and middle notes are predictably Angelica (top) and Tuberose (middle) with base notes of amber and woody notes. I think it’s these heart notes are what won me over on the fragrance front. I do love a bit of amber and woody notes in the same way as I like musk in a fragrance as it tones it down and makes it that bit more uni-sex. Tuberose is probably the most intense scent from the fragrance and the main one that clings to skin more than the others.
I think it is quite a heady scent and whilst I do love to take a big lungfull – I’m not sure it’s one I’ll find myself reaching for day to day as it is just stronger than the sort of fragrance I usually gravitate towards. But if you have a soft spot for either Tuberose, or Angelica than this is your fragrance.
On a totally seperate note (no pun intended) – how gorgeous is the bottle!? Not that I want to think about this yet, but it has a very Christmassy feel to it… would make a stunning gift!
