Lipstick was kind of the thing of 2014, with every brand you can think of having a moment with super-pigmented and mostly matte textures. Well, if that was 2014 – then this year is all about lipsticks going towards that ‘sheer’ texture. But these are somehow a combination of sheer and pigment…. if that makes sense at all. Either way, read on to have a little look at the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick range.
First things first, the packaging of these is great. I love the signature purple colour of the packaging and they feel all smooth and silky. Lovely to hold and feels really premium and special. The selection of four colours I have here are a berry, a hot pink, a cherry red and a nude. All with strong enough colour that they’re ‘worth’ wearing (ie not so sheer they vanish when applied). Each with a soft, hydrating feeling formula.
The colour names you can see above, we have Sheer Shame, Sheer Anarchy, Sheer Streak (hello matching the oh so gorgeous blusher and gloss?!) and Sheer Liar. I love how these four basically hit all the essentials of a lip wardrobe – a dark, a bright, a classic red and nude. Perfect. If you only had four lip colours (ha!) then these would be the ones to tick off the list
Personally, I adore a sheer lipstick. Ok, maybe lacking the impact of a strong matte lip colour. But SO much easier to wear. Plus, winter lips = chapped – so these are a total God-send if you have that problem *raises hand*.
There are 10 shades in the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick range – from the simple nudes to the daring darks and everything inbetween.
Where do you sit in the lip camp – matte & pigmented or hydrating & sheer?!
