The YSL Summer Collection is often one of my favourites, mainly for the bronzing powder they release each year. I still have what’s left of one from a few years back that was a trio of bronze/terracotta and peachy shades that made a perfect bronzer/blusher combination. One of the only bronzers I’ve ever used all the way to hitting pan on – fact. This year though the items in the collection that have me the most excited are in fact to stand out shades of eye liner. In amongst the shades of bronze eyeshadow palette, new creamy bronzers (also amazing but more on these another time), there’s two pretty shades of nail varnish that I feel have a really 70’s Summer vibe to them…then there’s the two shades of the YSL Summer Collection 2015 liquid eye liners. One in a bright blue and another in a rich green.
The two shades are deep green and Majorelle blue. Majorelle blue is the stunning bright blue colour that’s a signature of Marrakech (FYI this is because a French artist created a large garden as a piece of art and painted all the walls, fountains and features in the garden the shade of blue that he then trademarked after his name – Jacques Majorelle) – the inspiration behind the collection. It’s one of my all time favourite colours and a shade of eye liner I’ve been looking for for ages – so you can get why this was the stand out for me from the range. On the right we have Majorelle blue and on the left the shade Rich Green. Both in the Babydoll liquid liner family but unique to the YSL Summer Collection 2015.
Now blue liner has been the thing of jokes (with a few too many 80’s references maybe) and something I’ve always avoided for that reason. But this colour is just gorgeous and I think that paired with the bronze/gold shades of the rest of the collection will look really pretty as a stand out shade of liner on the eyes.
Would you dare to wear Majorelle Blue eye liner?
