Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? Erm… hands up if you’re in the same boat as me and it’s somewhat far from finished…. say, not even properly started yet?! The thing is I don’t have a huge list to tackle, but it can get challenging to think of something that’s that perfect balance of something the person will love, is not too tricky to get your hands on, is a surprise and also affordable. The ultimate goal in gift-giving.

I usually end up having a mad-dash around the shops in the last few days before Christmas trying to find those perfect gifts. Getting a bit frazzled in the process. I’m determined to avoid that last moment panic this season. Which is why handy little tools like the Boots Gift Finder are an absolute wonder. You can answer a few questions about the person you’re buying for and then up pops a selection of gift ideas. Even if they’re not the perfect match, I found it was great for sparking ideas and getting an idea of what’s out there without that frantic shelf scanning process I’m so used to in my last-minute ways!
Buying for females in my life is pretty straight forward I think, after all if you have managed NOT to see a beauty gift guide this year you’re doing well. I have a head full of ideas ready to go. The men though? Slightly more tricky. Last thing they want is another pair of socks really… so I’m trying to get a little more creative. Looking for ideas that might be both useful and something they’re excited about. For me, a gadget is always a winner so I have a trio of gadgets that are great examples of the sort of practical presents that make ideal gifts. From the ‘oh that’s really handy’ to the ‘I’ve been talking about getting one of those for ages’ or even the ‘oooh home facial?! YES’.
Remington Beard Trimmer (£19.99 Boots.com) – Perfect for the hipster with perfectly styled facial hair. Keeping that beard on the right side of designer stubble! Or maybe even a teenage brother nephew who fancies trying out a bit of facial-hair growth…
Oral B Genius 9000 (£109 Boots.com) – A practical present but makes SUCH a difference. I’ve been an electric toothbrush devotee since I had my teeth whitened (more on this next week) and really think it’s such a good thing to have in your life. But will probably never buy yourself one… so makes a great practical gift! Plus works for any gender so all good whoever you’re buying for!
HoMedics MicroDermabrasion Kit (£150 Boots.com) – A beauty junkie who loves gadgets (hello!) this is perfect. Someone who’s always trying the latest beauty treatments and facials. Then this is a great at-home treat. Giving a little boost to your routine. I may be keeping this one for myself…mainly because I love the idea i can use this on my hands! If you haven’t discovered the wonders exfoliating your hands can do then you’re missing out! Oh and this is available in a Rose Gold version too… PRETTY!
Give the gift finder a go for yourself. You simply choose who you’re buying for, set the budget level you’re looking at and the sort of thing you think they would like (think…are they into adventure, gadgets, a bit of a foodie…). Then you have a series of ideas you can save or remove, depending on what suits the person in mind. FYI – some of the foodie gifts that came up as something special for a couple were great! From Tapas dishes to photo frames…. who knew Boots had such an extensive Christmas gift range?!
It’s so easy to use and available on both desktop and mobile so you can get ideas on the go!
