Party season is here and wether yours is more of a pub lunch with the family or shaking it on the dance floor until the early hours it’s nice to dial up the glam a bit with the festivities. So I picked out five different lipsticks that are just perfect for celebrating with. So here are my pick of five party ready lipsticks.
Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet ‘Attitude’ (601)* – Probably my absolute pick of the season for lipsticks. A deep purple shade that just works for Autumn. It can take a basic look from bland to dramatic in a slick of colour. It’s not as scary to wear as it looks either. You can see it in action in THIS post.
YSL Vernis A Levres Lip Vinyl ‘Rhythm Red’ (411)* – These are new from YSL and ideal for party season as they combine all the best bits of a lip stain, creamy colour and a glossy shine too. This shade is my pick of the bunch as it’s that classic red, with an orange tone to it. I love this variation on classic red in Summer but the shade of this is perfect for Winter as it has just a touch more terracotta to it. One to go perfectly with a classic black eyeliner and a tonne of mascara.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips ‘Electric Poppy’* – This one stood out to me when the Hot Lips range first launched. I’ve always been a sucker for a bright pink and this one is right up my street. A matte finish, so definitely one you want to have a good scrub/moisturise before you apply. But once it’s on it feels SO good. Not too drying and lasts really well. I love a bright pink as an alternative to red for Christmas, sure not quite as traditional but a bright pink is perfect to perk up a maybe a tad dull Wintery complexion.
L’Oreal Gold Obsession ‘Pure Gold’ *- Ok, so gold lipstick isn’t exactly an ‘easy’ one to pull off and I’m not saying I would go full on gold-pout. But, this *does* make for a perfect way to add a little festive bling to a lip colour you already love. Especially if you usually love a matte shade – you can add a touch of gold in the centre of your top and bottom lip to give it a little bit of metallic dimension and interest. I think this works really well over a deep red or burgundy type shade. You could always add a touch of gold eye liner too – to give the whole look a touch of glitz.
Rimmel London The Only One Matte Lipstick ‘The Matte Factor’ (810)* – If a deep colour lip ever has a place it’s now. The new formula of these Rimmel Lipsticks is really special. I’ve always thought Rimmel had the best affordable lipsticks on the market (especially the Kate collections) so I am not surprised to see that these are the sort of formula to give much more pricey options a run for their money. Matte, but not drying. Just a sort of shine-free cream rather than super-matte finish. I really like these and they do make a great cheaper alternative. Especially if you want to try a shade a bit braver than you normally go for!
Hope you like these five party ready lipsticks! When it comes to party make-up and giving your beauty routine a festive twist do you tend to go more lips or eyes?! Or a bit of both…! WHY NOT it’s Christmas!
