Every year Jo Malone launch a special charity candle, where the proceeds from the sales going to support community gardens across the country. The charity proceeds generated by Jo Malone help fund the creation and maintenance of therapeutic scented gardens for and looked after by people living with mental ill health. This year’s candle is Jo Malone Iris and Lady Moore Charity Candle.
This year’s candle is the beautiful English country garden fragrance of Iris and Lady Moore – it’s a strong scent just in the candle and when you burn it, spreads across a room in a way that’s effective but not overwhelming. One of those fragrances that has me all excited to get to Autumn so I can get all cosy with candles and blankets and basically hibernate until Spring. Just me that’s bringing out the granny-like tendencies?!
The fragrance itself is a combination of powdery soft Iris, with fresh and floral Geranium plus some gorgeous vetiver grass. The result being a powdery, softly floral with a lovely freshness to it. Keeping more on the refreshing side to a floral English country garden. Sort of like that time after a rain shower so the floral fragrances are combined with a zesty-ness.
I’ve always got a soft spot for a Jo Malone fragrance for the home and this one is no different. With the gorgeous Charity-candle floral packaging. It stands out from the usual cream and black brand packaging of Jo Malone. I love it when they break from their usual branding – having had a sneak peek at the Christmas 2017 collection they really are breaking away for some special limited edition packaging with a definite twist!
