What is the new Clarins Lip Milky Moiusse I hear you ask? Well, it’s a new take on a lip colour. The texture is exactly as the name implies. A creamy, light, almost whipped-like. Each one in a series of easy to wear lip shades. The effect of the shades on the lips is like a tint and has a matte finish. Rather than leaving the lips with a gloss or sheen, the colour ends up looking a very natural wash of colour.

The pro of this new texture of colour offers colour, hydration and a creamy but matte finish. The packaging makes it easy in some ways to apply like a balm. The only downside is that the tip of the applicator is a small sponge ball. The cream comes out of a small hole in the middle and whilst it’s comfortable and easy to apply it is only easy to get a wash of a colour but it’s not easy to get a precise lip line.

There are six shades, each with ‘good enough to eat’ names:

The shades vary from the more ‘typical’ pinky nudes to brown tones and darker berry shades. As the colour pay off is more tint-link my advice would be if you want a colour to make a difference to you then opt for the darker shades. They might seem a little intimidating if you’re not used to a dark lip but the way they apply is more sheer so not scary at all.

My personal favourite so far is 05. Milky Rosewood – a sort of nude/berry cross over. Adds just enough of a wash of colour to the lips that I look like my natural lip shade has been dialled up. Really easy to wear and such a comfortable formula.

As part of the same launch Clarins also has a pair of Joli Blush shades. Each in cute candy coloured striped packaging (can we just take a moment to appreciate how fresh the packaging for the whole collection is – I can see these being casually strewn across the dressing table of many a far more cool Instagram girl than I am).

For the blushes, I have the shades Cheeky Pinky, there’s also a shade called Cheeky Peachy that’s (as the name implies) more peachy toned. The pinky option would be the one I would opt for as I love a pop of pink to give that bit of lift to my face. Never fails to perk things up a bit when needed. This one, whilst is called the pinky one, is still a pinky/peach hybrid. A less shimmery similar to NARS Orgasm type territory.

Also worth a look in the collection are the new Milky Boost skin tints. Each one is a while milky liquid with encapsulated pigment that bursts on application to deliver a natural tint and glow. I haven’t tried this yet but they do sound very interesting and definitely new for Clarins!
